  1. small defects after laminating

Thanks for your replies guys. I will try running a tack cloth over it just prior to laminating. And have a close look at the rollers to see if there is any problems there.
  2. small defects after laminating

I think I will do the same, please post if you find something that works well with 203.
  3. small defects after laminating

I am very new to this, so this is only my 2nd 150' roll.. but the problem has been present since the start.
  4. small defects after laminating

The supplier says it might be dust too. But I am printing dozens of feet flawlessly, and rolling in up in the take up reel. Then laminating it the next day from the roll. This is all in a very clean room. I am being very careful, so I am wondering if this is dust.. is it present within the roll...
  5. small defects after laminating

Hi everyone, we've been using General Formulations 203 gloss with Oracal 210 gloss and we're getting quite a lot of these small white marks, sometimes they look like small white bumps and sometimes more like a small scratch.. we can print forever without a flaw, but after we laminate the...

Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it!!
  7. Vinyl for stickers

john1, do you mean you see shrinkage days after printing? The manufacturer and distributor seem to think this should not be happening and that it's a drying issue. I personally don't mind changing to cast if that is the solution, but if it is a drying issue, that would be better to solve I...
  8. Vinyl for stickers

I am die cutting though the liner, there is no weeding involved. Thing is I have die cut stickers here from other sources that have been sitting around for who knows how long with no shrinkage whatsoever. I want to produce the same results.
  9. Vinyl for stickers

My most recent prints have been set aside for about 24hrs before laminating or cutting.. still, there is a small amount a shrinkage. We are printing black to the bleed, so it's easy to see.
  10. Vinyl for stickers

Even un-laminated stickers with a kiss cut have a 1mm gap now in some places where the kiss cut is. These stickers where made just a few days ago. Is this normal for the 203? Can anyone suggest a product that isn't going to shrink like this? Do I need to use a cast vinyl and laminate?
  11. Vinyl for stickers

I tried this combination, but it shrinks so fast. 2mm in some places after a week indoors.. I know it's cheap material, but is this normal? Does the Oracal 3164g shrinks as much if you laminate with 210?
  12. having trouble cutting with S140 T

wow, I just did some half cuts and noticed that it cuts the entire sticker in one go.. whereas the Flexcut would start cutting one sticker, stop, start cutting another, then go back and finish. ... so I turn Flexcut off and change the knife pressure up to 270 and cut them normally and bingo...
  13. having trouble cutting with S140 T

I attached a photo of the problem.. is this normal? It seems like there are points where the blade changes direction and doesn't quite line-up..
  14. having trouble cutting with S140 T

This is what mine is set at right now: full pressure 270 full pressure length 10mm flex cut pressure 180 flex cut pressure length 0.375mm velocity 50 mode accurate I also enabled smoothing, but I'm not sure if that is relevant for Flexcut.
  15. having trouble cutting with S140 T

Thanks guys. That is reassuring that it should work as I expected! I thought maybe it was the path being too complicated, I even simplified the path. @SightLine: Do you mean the art is rasterized? Would this really impact the contour cut? I'm not sure if this is going to make...
  16. having trouble cutting with S140 T

Hi again everyone, I still haven't gotten all the issues quite worked out with this cutter. I thought we'd be able to do digital die cutting stickers for our customers, but... it doesn't seem to cut completely smooth all around. Some areas are a little rough. I expected this cutter would...

:thankyou: I will check into your suggestions. I think some of our customers, who are reselling the stickers, may care.

  19. Vinyl for stickers

Thanks for your reply MGraphics. Strange coincidence, I went to high school in Kelowna and just happened to be thinking about it earlier today.
  20. Vinyl for stickers

Just wondering what some of you are using for stickers. I've got some sample media here that all have printing on the back liner. Do you use media with no printing on the back liner? I would think a blank back liner would be better for stickers...
