I'm fairly certain it was a polycarb face. we had thought it was install error at first, so we went and popped the large bubbles and waited for the vinyl to clear out... bubbles came back in full force so a few weeks later we did the same thing. Happened the same way again. it was gassing so...

I'm still at a loss regarding the "testing method of shaving the edge" sounds backwards to me. Controltac adhesive DOES react and cause gassing. Call and ask 3m if you don't believe it. Our supplier didn't even know.

polycarb is soft? lol. polycarb is bullet proof.

No answer from me but a bit of general tip regarding this. Do NOT use 3M controltac adhesive on polycarb faces. It reacts and will continually bubble.

I think it looks great for the price of $35. for $35, I wouldn't deliver anything better.agreed that if it were me, i woulda ran the center through alien skin blowup or something like that, reset the ring and text in vector and printed the thing.

A beginner question to what, the written English language? It's hard to see the exact problem in the image, but I presume you are applying wet and then going over it a couple times as it dries out especially at the edges correct? What material are you using?

Run a layer of 8518 on top of it before install.

you'll find the same problem importing autocad files into a variety of other programs as well.

i've cut down a roll of 8518 on a 12" power miter box a few time. dont plan on using the blade for anything but that though... it gets a bit gummed up.

Hand laid 23k leaf looks 100% different than 22k vapor flashed sign gold. Not even comparable. Also, when purchasing a stock printable roll of leaf from LEO for example, #1, you waste a lot of leaf and expense on gold that falls outside the letter area and #2, the swirl is one size and ends up...

lol. I think you misunderstood. You cut a stencil, apply to the truck, hand size the area, remove the stencil, gild and burnish, clearcoat, and either hard outline or screen the shade/outline whatever else. when you gild directly onto the paint, it's referred to as a "traditional" application...

sign gold isn't 23k... it's 22k so if they specified 23... then its not SG. also... hand gilded is too possible with the edge... we do it every day. been gilding fire trucks for 25 years. There's ways of hand gilding onto the truck itself (traditional) or you can utilize the Edge to make 23k...

I'm a firm fan of 3m. If you're having problems with it. You may just need a tecnique modification. What application tools do you use?
