Agreed.
To the OP, you say you know everything that you need to do as if it's easy and simple, so go do it.
I've had the same thought: "we have all the equipment - we just need more volume". It's easy to throw a bunch of machines and people into a building and call yourself a business...
100% agree. Never been a fan. Evaluated the FB500 10 years ago when getting into our first flatbed, opted to go with Canon/Oce instead and never looked back. Didn't get the RMO but if we wanted a "hybrid", I'd rather a true flatbed with Roll option rather than a belt-fed unit.
Thanks for reporting back with your results, glad to hear you made some progress.
When you said you were having problems, what was happening exactly? 90 degree corners weren't matching up perfectly?
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
I guess they realized not everyone is willing to dish out the amount of monies required to get into the R1000/2000 price point.
Personally I always thought they (R1000/2000) were way overpriced but then again I'm not HP fanboy to begin with.
What kind of marks/workflow are you using for this?
We've recently started experimenting with cutting Edge prints on our Summa S140T plotter. The cut quality is great but running into some weird issues when printing w/ the small square OPOS marks.
It will print intermittent marks first...
We've been running and laminating prints from a UCJV for almost 5 years now. Heat assist is suggested/probably a good idea, depending on what you're doing. Our printer came with a Mimaki laminator w/ heat assist, probably because they knew it required it. I take it they've abandoned that...
Thank God someone understands things. :toasting:
I'm trying to stay out of this, but the ignorance and pipe-dream rationale of bringing all manufacturing back to the US or North America in general is astounding.
I'm no economics major but come on, how can some people not grasp how...
I can't even bear to click those links and lose more braincells, but you're absolutely right to compare the tariffs with the wall, in terms of his understanding (or lack thereof) regarding how they work and who gets stuck footing the bill.
I don't have anything nice to say so I won't say...
Oh really? I guess I should read up on these tariffs to make sure I'm completely understanding how they apply. I've mostly tried to stay out of it because what is "official" today will be different tomorrow, the way things have been going.
We're shipping an order to New York today so I...
This shit pisses me off. Without getting into politics or US vs Canada arguments - this new trend of Canadian companies slashing 25% off of our sell price to compensate for these ridiculous tariffs? No thanks.
I've seen a few companies come up with similar policies and it makes me cringe...
Do as you wish with your equipment bob, but might be worth hanging on to in the event of ever buying a replacement printer.
Despite it being dead/worthless to you, it still has value as a trade in unit. Just throwing that out there.
