Try wiping it down with alcohol before printing. Don’t know if it will work for HP inks, but it’s an easy test. You should test other ACM brands.
Pressure sensitive laminates can seal the ink if there is a lot of of unprinted area, especially on the edge. If the ink runs to the edge then...
If you’re getting Museum work margins you will not love production houses. The margins are low and the turnaround times are short. There’s a wholesale ad running across this site for $.59/sf banners and another with $1/sf with free shipping and next day delivery.
I agree with Reveal1- evaluate...
Gino,
I agree, the problem with political discussion most of the time is a failure to respect differing opinions. Too many times people treat political discussion like a football game with winners and losers.
Why are we complaining about the Gender Identity nonsense? This creates a whole new set of signs for every building. As sign makers we should embrace gender identity issues all the way to the bank.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still conflicted, but leaning towards printing the decals and moving on. If he puts them on his gun or his toilet is his decision.
A customer wants decals of Osama Bin Lauden photos to put on the grip of his pistol. Some folks in my shop are freaked out by it. We aren't installing them.
Anyone got thoughts on this one way or the other?

We have a Kala Mistral - the operators love it. It runs fast and can run full rolls end to end with under 1/4" of drift. We also have an old Seal Pro 64 - the operators won't touch it anymore.
We run an HP570 and installed the Colorado 1650 about a month ago. My operators say the Colorado is hands down the winner in terms of speed, time to start, maintenance and waste. A volume of 30k sf per month is about 2 rolls a day. I would definitely upgrade to something faster - keep the HP...
We like Cyrious a lot and have used them for years. We looked at a number of systems and selected Corebridge because of the great experience we've had with Cyrious.
The main reason for the switch is that Corebridge is cloud based and gives us more flexibility with a distributed work force...
I must not have have stated that well. I understand that it’s vacant space. I suggested an upsell opportunity by implying to the customer that realtors may have an easier time renting a well lit space over a space with blacked out windows.
I’m always surprised at the number of times we as sign...
Light transmission may be important. If you hang banners the space will feel pretty dark and closed in. Clear with a white vinyl backer will at least let some light through. You might use that as a way to upsell the customer to fabric or panovision.
Good luck with the project.
We’ve been running a 1650 for 4 weeks. So far we are happy with the quality on banners, IJ35 and wallpaper. The ink on banners is way more durable than the HP570. Latex inks seem to show scratches and creases if the finisher handles them wrong. The IJ35 prints have a nice gloss without...
We installed a 1650 about 10 days ago. We’ve been running basic stuff - IJ35 and banner material. Our initial impressions are favorable.
IJ35 runs at just over 400sq ft per hour. Banners run better than twice that speed. The banners look fine at the higher speed with just a small reduction in...
We tested IJ180 on the new 1650. We installed samples on a pick up and had no issues stretching it into the body channels with heat. Not really planning to do wraps with it, but we did want to see if it cracked like the 1640 samples did. Hoping that wasn’t a fluke since we had one delivered on...
