It is always recommended to use Optically Clear Laminate with reflective as well. Windows and Reflective....that is really all you ever need OC Lam for.
Some of my racing guys will use OC when they use Chrome/Metallic vinyl over digital print. It does make a difference.
And this is the major issue with the GS6000 and canvas.
I can tell you that the best canvas you will ever purchase for the GS6000 is the Epson Branded Solvent Canvas. It just isn't the most economical.
Also, look into the Sihl Picasso canvas - good stuff and priced right. PM me your info and...
I'll tell you all the same thing I tell my Roland customers - if there was a good 3rd party ink we would be selling them.
My Roland tech stays very busy fixing printers with junk ink in them, and YES - all of them have went back to OEM ROLAND ECOMAX inks with NO ISSUES.
There was a 5% increase on all Roland ink Jan 1st - that is why pricing is up and down right now. Wait until dealers have sold exisiting stock purchased at lower pricing....and you should see the 'OEM ink price war between dealers' even out, or at least we hope so.
We just got in 10 fresh...
Great question, and I can't answer it. I am guessing that the cast would probably be more stable that the calendered product - OR that the cast laminate would conform to the calendered material. I'll find out for sure.
I know its a recent trend for manufacturers to to pair a high performance...
I can only go on from what I have heard from talking to others in the industry - concerns of heavy electrical to power machine and having to run extreme temperatures to fully cure the ink.
I'm anxious to see the actual reports and feedback as more of these units ship.
You are close - you can always put a CAST laminate on a CALENDERED vinyl, just NOT vice versa.
Use a good name brand Calendered Vinyl and Calendared Laminate on magnetic and you'll be just fine. Usuallly its the off brands and cheap stuff that shrinks badly.
Glad to hear it was a simple fix. I have had several customers request samples and quotes - but have not been able to use this printer yet (will probably replace our VP 'Demo' unit with one of these). The samples were some of the first ones and only shows metallic purple. Not bad...I just want...

The only SIHL media I know to be reverse wound is thier Surebet Solvent Banner line.
Above guys are on the money - Textured side is the print side. Chuck Squires from Sihl helped us with profile/settings right after it was released. Good stuff.
These trucks are gaining popularity and value in the classic market. Too bad its a longbed or I might jump on it!!
I had a nice 70 shortbed C10 a few years back, loved it. Sold it to buy a Honda Prelude, haha!!
