  1. sc-500 many problems

I don't think the CJ has cap tops. I've had mine in pieces more times than I want to think about. Most of the issues were about the ink, the pump lines being blocked or air in the upper lines and sound similar to what you're going through. There's a lever on the right side of the head carriage...
  2. Screw you 3M.

Funny thing... grimco has 3m for sale as happy Friday online special. I guess we are having an impact. Keep it up people When I told Tubelite, they matched Grimco's price. Nice savings today with 4 rolls ordered!
  3. Screw you 3M.

Colorado, I like the way you dealt with the compartment doors, and all the little doors. Looks clean. I would have been trying to cover the giant rivets and bolts and cursing the whole time. $%#@$ busmark! Or is automark better? I'm not that educated on the intermediate lines... Gonna have to...
  4. Lets see your shop! Post pics inside and out

My shop in the woods is tiny but I'm the only one who works here most of the time, and very few customers come here. My son built it for me in 2007 behind the house.
  5. Looking for opinions...............................

I've seen some really nice art that is grayscale except for one thing or one color. In this case maybe just the eyes in a surprising bright color or the eyes, beak and claws. Think in terms of a black and white picture with a wine glass and only the wine is red. I'm liking it!
  6. NEED Encoder sensor for Cj 500

CMYKparts.com carries the CJ500 parts, and they are the same as the sc500. Everything ships overnight.
  7. Self funded Health insurance / cash healthcare payers

oh yeah, nothing wrong with this system! Pretty bad when you're screwed whether you have ins or not.
  8. Copyrighted Artwork?

They may have had a similar logo since 1864 and this one with the copyright mark is something that the previous shop built because the PD's artwork was so bad. Maybe the PD has an older one they own that you can re-create without worrying. I do a lot of big command centers for PD's all over the...
  9. Psychological Challenges of Business Ownership

I have that blah feeling too, and am having a harder time than usual shaking it off. People are telling me I may be getting "older" and am just missing that youthful energy that kept me a workaholic for so many years. Sorry, but that is not an option! I feel like if anything I should be more...
  10. Looking for camouflage pattern

So I was going to print a little piece of realtree for a friend that wants his lawnmower to match his other stuff. The official website let me download a tile and work with it on the computer but it won't print. Would this be an embedded copyright protection of some kind? There didn't seem to be...
  11. 1 Shot not drying thread...

That was my post. It took 36 hours for that paint to dry but it did. I did cut a pretty thick hamburger out that can but nothing new about that for me. Maybe one too many hamburgers???
  12. In Honor of DD 4 20

Nice Links. I never knew about the trailer park boys. Strangely fascinating at 4:28.
  13. One Shot won't dry

Just got back from an install, and it's still the same. Not wet, but tacky, sorta like gold size an hour before it's ready for leaf. Hmmmm..... Maybe I could get a couple packs of variegated leaf? Wonder what that costs these days?
  14. One Shot won't dry

It was old, (but not leaded old....) Thinned with mineral spirits, frames sanded and wiped with 99% alcohol and painted black, one coat, with a clean #8 luco quill. Shoulda worked. :( The one shot had been opened long ago, had the usual skin on top and seemed like any other can of One Shot.
  15. One Shot won't dry

I've never had this happen! If the paint is still tacky after 14 hours should I give up and clean it off??? What a nightmare. I painted 2 old metal snap- in sign frames for a quickie free job and now this..... Arghhhh!
  16. Low Tech Color Management

    It's nice to know that it's a valid method.:cool1:
  17. Low Tech Color Management

I may get slammed for this one by the experts here but here goes.... Since I wear all the hats in my shop I haven't had time to study ICC profiles and color management in depth so have a work-around that gets me through my workflow. I have printed Pantone charts from files on each kind of...
  18. Reflective Lettering Lifting

For a little fix on the edge of the door like that cut a .3" to .5" pinline out of the best cast laminate you have and run it all the way down the edge of the graphic, wrapping it around the door edge. Do it nice and smooth and it's practically invisible and seems to be well received by...
  19. Manual release for print head question

On mine you push it to the right and it disengages the lock. dee
  20. Art for Mattell Toy

LOL I really love all of you! What a great bunch of responses. I have the number of a copyright/patent attorney recommended by someone "in the know" and will call him Monday and let you all know what he says. FYI I have training in commercial art that may have led me in a different direction...
