Try tracing over the marks with a fine point Sharpie Marker. It helped me a few times.
I sure hope you have better luck getting this problem resolved then I did. I ended up getting rid of the Graphtec and buying a Summa. No more problems.
Mine are always at the edge also.
Maybe try talking to a different distributor. Matt Cueller is on here and sells graphtec, PM him and see what he says.

I have the RSC-1650C and it works great. It took all of about 7 minutes for my dealer to set it up and train me how to load and use it. No tinkering at all, and it runs straight unless I mess up loading prints in to it.
I have been having the same problem. Last week had to reset the machine to factory defaults to get it to do anything and it seems to be working ok at this point. Make sure that the setting for the reg mark is set correctly. Mine had gotten set to .80 and it would do a thing until I set it to...
Where exactly are you? Granite where? Maybe someone can help you out with a "internship", even if it is part time so you can keep your current job until you make a decision.
