Zero clearance is no good, you need room for the adhesive. The 1/32" is probably a bit tight but workable. With any adhesive the strength of the joint is a function of bond area. The more area bonded the stronger the joint. I would increase the overlap to get a bigger joint.
This same observation can be made about just about any skill, trade or profession. You have to constantly learn, expand into new areas and push your personal envelope or you don't have 30 years experience, you have 5 years experience - repeated 6 times.
First your material was not the correct alloy for machining. The more expensive materials cut better. You'll need to keep the bit and material cool while cutting to prevent the melting you experienced.
If you can't get the better alloy, spray the bit with WD-40 or similar material, cut 2-3...
I personally don't like to do it but one of my kids does it all the time. Not really haggling, he just politely asks if there's any wiggle room on the price and he gets something off at least half the time. His theory, if you don't ask, the answer is always no. If a prospect asks me once I'll...
I have seen push through letters done as a single piece. That is start with a 1" thick piece of acrylic and rout the letter to about 3/4" depth leaving about 1/4" of the base intact. Insert the letters as a single routed piece. As a single piece there's no "there" for water to collect.
I am having two 5'x6' acrylic panels flatbed printed (they will be backlit) and planning to clear coat for a bit more protection during install and a bit more uv resistance but I can't find a recommendation for a clear coat. Gerber doesn't recommend Frog Juice, Ronan said their stuff will not...
Also when you buy the entire business you also buy all the liabilities of that business. Some like A/P may be easily computed but some can be unknown or unexpected. Suppose something the previous owner did fails or there's an unexpected warranty issue, the new owner is on the hook for that.
That's interesting, I could see that being an issue in some areas. I'm in a "right to work" state which means I employ " at will". Absent a contract I have no obligation to provide x number of hours of work or to provide paid vacation for that matter. If the guys want to save their accrued...
If we are slow or between jobs and there's nothing to do I'll have the guys stay home a day or two and use their vacation time. I'm going to pay them the time one way or the other but this way the vacation time is used when the workload is light.
Gino, you miss my point.
I'm not equating letting the house burn with giving someone medical treatment. I'm questioning why ignoring pre-existing conditions which is basically lets someone buy insurance at the time they need it is one of the great benefits of our new health care law but when...
Many posters have said allowing the guy to pay when the fire department showed up defeats the purpose of insurance. Insurance collects from many who will not need the service so there are funds to reimburse those who do need the service. The argument is "If we could just pay the fee when we...
I have a customer wanting a lighted cabinet 66"x108" with double printed digital print on translucent white vinyl, reverse printed for mounting to second surface.
Does anyone know of a source for a 66" wide print like this or should I tell the customer to revise the design to 60" max.
Gino, I agree interpretation plays a big part in this. If laws were clear and didn't need interpretation we would have a lot fewer lawyers. I wouldn't suggest the OP write and ask for confirmation that nothing is required, no bureaucrat will do that. I would ask what is required instead and...
Yes Gino, that's the law in Georgia, the National Code. If you build to that standard you comply. Anyone can build to that standard or to UL48 and be in compliance because there is no requirement to be UL listed or be inspected. The electrical license info you quoted does not apply. Around...
I get weary of folks who think because their local is heavily regulated that everyone operates in that environment. Fact is many places do NOT require anything more than a business license to legally make electric signs. In my area, for example, 95% of jurisdictions do not require UL and could...
