  5. Buying A "real" Cutter

I have an old ce2000-60 24" graphtec it runs great!. My only quirk with the machine is getting a long run out of it, 12-16' is the best it will do. Under most circumstances that is plenty. I however do large scale jobs regular so I bought an older Ioline smart track is85 (stepper motors) and it...
  6. Which best describes You?

Full time home based, really too large for home but making it work. Rephrase, home too small, yard too small and no place to park 2 cranes. I have to find a bigger house with a garage.
  7. Poles for Cabinet Sign

A couple of 5 or 6 inchers will work and from your description there will be 4' of the poles in the ground and the rest running up the sides of the cabinet. 24" holes 4' deep should be fine for a 10x10 on grade level. Here in Birmingham an engineered drawing is not required on anything under...
  8. pricing anyone?

If your meeting with him find out what he wants but be ready to price it at full price and know your margin of profit on bulk vs a few. If he gives you a lot of work give him a little break but not too much, 10-15% at most. $1.50ea on a minmum order maybe, just make sure your making profit.

After wording you can cut the sun in half and place it atop the wording and it wont be that bad but not around the wording. Geary is right on about being busy.

Thanks Steve I have to do some fine tuning and it will be ready for use. I think I'm going to hand letter some of my scripts, blocks and casuals and get them to working form. For some reason I've became interested in this.
  14. Chiseled

AS above by Shovel Head No special tool , freehand tool, shape tool and trim tool Created the paths where I wanted them and trimed then added to the duplicate letter. It's pretty quick to do, the rounded letters are a little slower to do but not much. Here are a few I was messing with...

When I first started hand lettering and had one stroke script down I liked brush script because we only had brody in the 4B and I learned to paint it,I learned every stroke and still enjoy painting and using brush script, its truly a die hard font.
