  1. Roland 540 sp pinch roller error

Could be the Ribbon Cable, or the "cut carriage board", pinch roller sensor is different than the crop mark sensor, but both are connected to "cut carriage board". I would clean both sensors, make sure your pinch wheels are in proper place. Check your sensors (in maintence mode) if they test...
  2. Roland Versacamm SP300i quote

FYI- VP-300 and VP300i are the same machine, Versaworks upgrade is what makes a machine "i" series. Same for the 540.
  3. Random VersaWorks lockup?

I get a couple of calls a month on this VW freeze up. The solution for my customers has been to delete some of old job in the queue. Leaving printed jobs in the queue, means VW has to re-open them the next time you fire up VW, and this process will eat alot of the computers resources. If you...
  4. SP300 mis directed black

You got alot of "Defelction", that why your getting darker lines in the black test print. I would soak the head (at least 1/2 hr), loosen up those clogged nozzles then run a couple of powerful cleanings. If you have improvement soak for a longer time. My .02
  5. HELP! I have ink everywhere!

Rolands' retro-fit program for the "old" style pumps expired over a year ago. To check for clogged lines...squeeze them, if you feel something hard, then you have a clog. Or you can fill your cap top with cleaning solution, if the solution doesn't travel...you have a clog.
  6. Please help VP540i ???

Your Calibration is off.....when boxes overlap you get you dark banding. When the boxes are apart, you get white banding.
  7. sp540 capping station

The "T" sponge goes under you "Misting" pad, it's function is to allow the ink that collects on the misting pad to wick down to the waste lines. Without the T sponge your mist pad will become saturated and splash ink onto your print carriage, enough ink will build up until you'll get ink...
  8. Print Quality question.

The Sp will provide higher quality images compared to the VP. Sp lays down a smaller picoliter (Dot size) than the VP. The VP- will provide a quality image as well.
  9. Roland sc540 EX heads dropping out

Put a Volt Meter on The F1 fuse on the Main Board. If it's dead, you got 2 options, replace the board or replace the fuse. Chances are you'll also need to replace either your black, cyan or both heads. Something cause the fuse to blow. If not the head then you could have a bad print carriage...
  10. Sp-540V media feeding crooked

Media Drifting Check you outside pinch rollers....if they are soft replace them and your drifting will end. FYI you can't change any of your inside rollers with the outside ones....like previous poster stated they are "coned".
  11. Mimaki JV3-160SP Off Print

If you have a cleaned encoder, and still have skewing, I would check the Encoder reader itself(clean the eye). As check your "pinchrollers", On older machines, the Ink will soften the rollers, thus you get weird feeding of media. My $.02 GTSTech_1
  12. VP-540 Service Mode ?

You got service mode protected because you didn't hit buttons in the right order. I posted the right order, but was asked to remove it. My .02 GTSTech_1
  13. Overspray??

Got the following info from Roland......Hope it helps!!!! and DGA Service Dept. Overspray.pdf Rev.1 Page 1 of 2 Trouble Shooting Overspray Overspray, also known as misting, can be caused by a variety of reasons. In the sample print notice the slight haze around the edge of the blue blocks...
  14. Epson 10000 Print Heads

They (Epson 10000) will work on Roland (Versacam, ProII, and ProIII), Mimaki (JV3, JV4 but have to use old head ID), and Mutoh (Rockhopper, Falcon Outdoor). You will want to make sure the Epson head is solvent, if not replace the manifold and your good to go. My .02 GTSTech_1
  15. Print & Cut

I recently serviced a SP-540 that was having the same cut problems described. After many adjustments within the Print/Cut menu, wire tension nothing I did would solve the problem. I flashed the mainboard, and re-installed the firmware and this solved the problem. My .02 GTSTech_1
  16. Problems with JV3

If you didn't or even if you did, "Lock the Head" before the move, I would bet that your "Cap postion" has shifted slightly during the move. I have seen the Ink migrate back to the Carts during a move, if so pull/draw some ink from your cap tubes. Confirm your "cap postion" then do a nozzle...
  17. ran out of ink

Not sure about shaving anything off the cart. I would pull the cart (magneta) out, and tape the "Tab", the extended tab triggers the sensor. Roland printers don't use the Chips. This Tab is the same tab that sometimes doesn't pop out when the cart is empty, thus you'll find other post...
  18. Nozzle dropout all of a sudden?!?!?!

Have you tried to lift the pinchroller handle? If your paper sensor were bad, it would trigger a error code. If your in Service Mode, you can check all the sensors. Couple of things to try.
  19. Just bought a sp300v!!

Only real weak point on the SP-300 or V is the flexible ribbon cable. It's by far the most replaced part other than your consumables (wipers, dampers, mist pads). My $.02 GTSTech_1
  20. Just bought a sp300v!!

Here's some info on your error codes 0002 Sub CPU Communication Error Poor communication with Sub CPU *CAUSE: Sub Board does not work correctly. Sub CPU does not work correctly. There is a bad connection between Main Board and Sub Board. 1) Check Cable Connection between Main Board and Servo...
