I run into the same issue with our Summa and running the gutters. Just slap a piece of white vinyl over an inch or two of the gutter next to the first mark and it should find it just fine. Never had any issue with all the others once it finds the initial mark.

Whenever I print greys on 5600/5650 reflective it looks more brown-ish than grey when reflecting light. The print itself looks fine in normal light, but when reflecting it looks bad. Greys are whatever % of black, not CMYK or RGB. Is that just how it is with grey or am I missing something?

Yup, each pass is 3.84 inches/97mm so the majority of the samples they send out are under 4 inches. Of course all the samples they send are designed to look their best.

As for the life of the film, I don't think it matters if you mix brands, as long as you don't use a calendar lam with a cast film or something like that. As far as I know they only reason to use the same brand lam and film is for warranty. There's no way 3M would warranty their lam on Avery...
