  1. Possible to use colorchange wrap vinyl on inside of glass to be seen from outside?

What finish/color/look is your client looking for, specifically? Lots of mylar/polyester/metallic films have the same finish on adhesive side, just depends what you're looking for and how wide of a roll you need to use.
  2. Need Help Coroplast issues - seeking tips and tricks

What kind of flatbed printer are you using? I'm surprised it doesn't have enough vacuum power to hold down a sheet of coroplast. I don't know that a heat gun will help here. Usually all you need is a bit of pressure/weight on the ends if a sheet is warped - as soon as it seals the vacuum will...
  3. Hello from the frozen north!

Hey Kayle, welcome from Winnipeg! You guys have any snow left over there? Disappearing fast here, which is super weird for Jan/Feb in Winterpeg. Out of curiosity, what does it mean to be a 3M Silver Select shop? I've never heard that terminology before.
  4. Logo Design

This is both hilarious and scary. Mind sharing what type of AI you're using for these? Not to get too side-tracked (or is it too late for that?) but how do rights/copyrights work for AI-generated logos?
  5. Looking for a suppler that uses UV ink only for Pole banners

Incorrect. UV does fade and will do so faster than most solvent inks. I'd say your customer has been misinformed.
  6. Solvent smell on Epson S80600L's

We have (1) S60600 in a 2500 sqft shop, and when printing heavy coverage/long runs I can taste the ink in the upstairs office, which is almost completely sealed off from the production area. That's with lots of ceiling fans going and an air scrubber beside the printer.
  7. Colour profiling and calibration

Contacting X-rite might be a good start like you mentioned, see if they have anyone they would recommend. You could also talk to ND Graphics, we had Wissam (from ND) come to our shop for 2 days and help us build some profiles w/ our i1 in Onyx. We ended up spending/wasting almost a full day...

  9. Summa F serie

This is the first time I've heard this before. Is there a document outlining what should be checked/maintained?
  10. Any Canadians have experience hiring immigrants?

You could always give these guys a call: https://cdnvisa.com/ They're a customer of ours, I'm pretty sure this is something they do. (Not a plug, just first company that came to mind)

  12. ONYX - add 10mm white + black outline?

I'm not near our RIP station but you SHOULD be able to achieve this. Add 10mm "bleed" and set it to white. Add trimlines and set to bleed area or something along those lines. That should work.
  13. For everyone thinking of purchasing a Summa, specifically F1612, don't.

Yeah, same here. We've run all day vinyl cut jobs and it will work fine for most of the day then just start dropping jobs halfway through. Blew one slot on our board a few months back then finally blew the second one just before the holidays. Board wasn't terribly expensive or hard to...
  14. Colorado or not

Does indeed sound really interesting at that price point/size. I wonder if they have distributors up in Canada.
  15. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

Haven't people learned yet, that if it's too good to be true..................... 3rd party ink is cheap as it is. You're focusing on the wrong end of the equation.
  16. The longer I'm in this business the more I believe that nobody who runs for office should be allowed to have the job.

How true/sad is that. Can't say I've ever come across a politician I liked or trusted, in either US or Canada.
  17. _

Sorry to hear about losing your big contracts, I feel for you guys. We lost our biggest customer when covid hit and they decided to bring production in house. (Not blaming them, or covid. Just a business decision they made) Our sales were way down during covid (mostly as a result of losing our...

Oh man what a train wreck. Even with all the back-peddling and deleted posts, that was still a brutal read. To the OP - if you're struggling so much with your sales, time to find a new product/market. You're selling copyright decal kits at a "non-profit" rate - what do you expect, seriously...
  19. Replacement Printer

Good point, reliability and access to support is a huge consideration. We bought our Oce Arizona 10 years ago, sight unseen and knowing there weren't any techs anywhere near us and that they would have to fly out to service the machine. In that 10 years, we've never had to fly out a tech other...
  20. Need Help Mimaki UCJV300-160 - White ink spill

The printer was installed 3.5 years ago, so definitely not recently. I've already received and approved a quote from our dealer to replace both pump assemblies - they recommended changing both while they're at it to avoid the second one going in the near future. Pretty common apparently as...
