  1. CorelDraw - layers / pages - easiest way to deal with them

Yes, corel has layers as most other programs. I rarely have a use for any more than one layer. Couple of things to note, and you may know already. As you select a shape you will see which layer it is on by the info at the bottom left of the workspace also note that you have a "Desktop" layer...
  2. Buying A Used 360 Hp Latex - Any Advice?

Yes, I've heard that using a custom profile that eliminates LtC & LtM works best if just printing red alone but... And our Print Tech, who also happens to be our IT guy, refuses to try customizing a profile.
  3. Buying A Used 360 Hp Latex - Any Advice?

Can't believe not one mention of what a pia the 360 is to switch media. This was something we noticed on day 1. Ours has given us minimal problems otherwise. If you're a smaller shop that changes media often, you'll certainly get a workout. Colors? Well forget about getting a rich red that you...
  4. SG2-300 Nightmare for Diecut Stickers! Help

Print and "Punch cut"? Meaning you can pluck all the decals out after cutting? We don't have the printer/plotter you have but we've gotten into the habit of die cutting decals in a different way. We first do a normal cut, not punch, then use a seperate contour for the punch (.08-.125"). The...
  5. Splice print and have the other half print next to each other?

Simple. Do the split in Corel, set them side by side, export as pdf to the Hot Folder. Print Tech sees it drop into Production Manager and prints without having to set anything other than the substrate and print profile.
  6. Import PDF file into CorelDraw and one name changes....

Imports good with X7 but 4 problems I see that I'd have to fix. 1. Text not centered - easy fix 2. Text line spacing set to use points - good thing I made a macro to correct that. 3. The "R" in MANCHESTER logo - easy fix 4. Sure wish adobe users would quit using PANTONE Process Black C as a...
  7. How to change Coreldraw default font spacing?

Are you talking about this? With nothing selected grab the Dimension Tool go to the Object Properties Docker and set your properties here. A pop-up should appear asking if you want that as default, leave dimension checked and hit ok. Now go Object\Save settings as default
  8. How to change Coreldraw default font spacing?

On a blank doc select the text tool, open the Text Properties Docker (Ctrl+t) , set your spacing to 0% and hit enter. You should get a popup asking if you want that to be set as default. Ensure all are checked then hit ok. Then go to Object/Save Setting as Default.
  9. Need Help Mounting vinyl and cutting coroplast

We also have both a wall mounted and table top cutter.
  10. Need Help Mounting vinyl and cutting coroplast

We use crop marks instead of the whole perimeter of each. Note too that all the coro we get is "Bowed" even the "Premium Cut" sold at a higher price.
  11. Burnout Signs

Avoid dark colored backgrounds especially on pvc. We have a laminate that we call "hood" laminate. It's specifically made for horizontal surfaces that get a lot of direct sunlight (car hoods/roofs/trunks). Unfortunately I don't know the specs on it. Our Print Technician knows all about it though.
  12. Just In Just wanted to say Hello and Introduce myself.

Welcome, from the "other" part of the state.
  13. Question Yeti Coolers

    Another millennial no doubt. lol
  14. Dumb rant

Could the printer manufacturers share in this fault. When this happens with the HP's it errors out and will not let you continue even after cutting it from the core. Seems to me all they had to do is have a sensor detect the resistance and "PAUSE" with a "CHECK MEDIA FEED" message thus allowing...
  15. Font Help... Please!

or VAG Rounded Std with a little kerning, stretching mods
  16. Need Help Can you divide plotter cuts into smaller sections after the material is printed?

Possibly. You could manually draw in reg marks at a precise location then do the same in your layout. That way you can "split" your cut file into sections.
  17. New Shop (flooring)

    Millenials no doubt.
  18. .040 Aluminum for a building sign?

    3mm polymetal or Max Metal
  19. New Shop (flooring)

Carpet? Holy crap! Don't even consider it! Polished or painted concrete all the way. Bring in a leaf blower once in a while and blow out the cobwebs and dust bunnies. Don't do it while printing or lamination though.
