I have been, I just thought I might get some leads here that might be overlooked otherwise. My 2 main suppliers are Merchant Members here, so I thought I'd ask...
We are in southern New Jersey and looking for suppliers for vinyl, digital media, etc. that will accept Purchase Orders as required by a municipality or a school. Any help?
I have one of the wheels you chuck into a drill, and a pneumatic vinyl zapper. Both work great for most vinyl removals. I'm all for tool strength over elbow grease.
That being said, neither will take off HIP Engineering Grade Reflective at a rate faster than 1-2 sq ft an hour.
From what I've read, hydrostripping can save half the money we would spend on new blanks. Now I just have to find a place in New Jersey... I have found NH, OR, FL...
Thanks for the tip Rex. Back to Google...
Indeed, Pat. The person making this call has no experience with reflective at all. Telling him isn't cutting it. I think he needs to try this with me...
I have been charged with the task of removing the vinyl from a lot of street signs to reuse them to save money. They are 3M 3930 HIP reflective on aluminum.
I have tried lots of different chemical options. Rapid Remover, Acetone, Goo Gone... Even left one soak in Goof Off overnight... nothing...
We are buying an HP L260 and upgrading from a cut only shop. Does anyone have a latex compatible list of media that isn't biased toward a specific manufacturer?
I only lied about being a sign shop before so people like you wouldn't give me a hard time. Since then, I have witnessed plenty of board members who are cool with helping out the new and inexperienced, and really don't care what condecending miserable people like you think. Have a good one, Gino.
I made a profile on here 2 years ago to read and learn as much as I could about sign making. I am not making or selling anything for my use or profit. All I meant was that the experience I pick up at work may someday be something I can use elsewhere. Wow. Touchy group...
