  1. Mutoh RJ900 Black Ink Line Problem?

Did you blow out the needle itself, without a cartridge inserted? Chances are that the little holes in the needle are clogged. Otherwise you may have a break in the ink line. Check the top of the lines above the dampers; occasionally, if they are the wrong length they will get cut on the top cover.
  2. in the market for an 84" solvent printer.

In that case that was sold as the Toucan LT here in the US. I don't know if a six color printer is what Artbot is looking for...
  3. ValueJet 1604 Error Code after replacing head - E085Err Head Heat

... cutter spring solenoid? Are you sure you're not talking about the E074 CR Current error? Because if that solenoid jams, it will throw a CR Overcurrent error. I've never seen one throw a Head Heat error when the solenoid jams.
  4. in the market for an 84" solvent printer.

The only issue with that, as far as I know, is that the RHIIK+ (aka Falcon II Outdoor) firmware only allows CMYKx2 and removes the option for dual inksets. It was meant to be run with only eco solvent, after all.
  5. Small shop trying to get first printer.

In all fairness, if you get a Roland FJ-50 (the equivalent to the Falcon) you're going to be in for your share of issues as well. It's mostly about the age of the technology -- for the most part I don't care WHO makes it*. * Chinese manufacturers excepted.
  6. Help Me! E119 Whitout Solution!

Head overheat errors usually indicate a short in the print head or FFC cable. If you've already replaced the cables, the problem is almost always in the head. Did you say that head 4 is disconnected? If there is no head connected to the FFC cable, the machine may throw either a overheat or fuse...
  7. Small shop trying to get first printer.

Since it's almost guaranteed that you will need to get a tech involved with that machine at some point, I would suggest looking for a tech or company where you can pay for service training on the machine. Once you have an idea of how to maintain the machine yourself (it's not actually that...
  8. in the market for an 84" solvent printer.

You're going to need an 8-head machine, either a Falcon II Indoor 87, Falcon II Outdoor 87, or basically any other derivative model with 8 print heads. Then you'll need to run the Falcon II Indoor firmware (latest is 1.31) and set it to the dual inkset mode. Once that's done, it's just a matter...
  9. Quickbooks over Internet

I've tried using Quickbooks directly over a VPN, and it's not a pretty sight. Basically, QB is a kludged together POS that started with a Win 3.x 16-bit codebase that has only been added on to since and never actually rewritten. They've changed the database features in recent versions but the...
  10. Firefox Upgrade messing with signs101

Sometimes Firefox profiles will get corrupted during upgrades, or add-ons and extensions screw with the settings. You can always start Firefox in Safe Mode from the Start menu entry, which will use a default profile with no add-ons. If the font sizes display correctly with that, then just back...
  11. How to release the printhead gs6000

By any chance did you try to unjam the printer while it was still powered on? You should always, ALWAYS clear head jams with the machine off and unplugged to avoid damage. The head lock bracket is located on the top of the carriage rail. If you remove the top cover over the maintenance area...
  12. mutoh 1304 resolution question

About the dampers, they had to make the dampers double-sided to accommodate the smaller head design. Here's the rundown on the 1614 to 1624 differences: 1604/1614: Wide head adapter plate 8 individual dampers (1604) or 4 double sided dampers (1614) 8 channels, 360 nozzles per color Limited to...
  13. ValueJet 1604 Error Code after replacing head - E085Err Head Heat

One of the most important things to check with a Head Heat error is the FFC ribbon cable pair running to the head. If that is shorted for any reason, the machine will throw the error and potentially damage the head. Basically, here's the troubleshooting workflow I'd suggest: Replace FFC cables...
  14. in the market for an 84" solvent printer.

Heh. I'm actually working at a print shop now; I never actually worked for Mutoh but did work for one of their largest dealers in California. I don't mind giving info about the Falcon II line since it's basically an obsolete model now. I would imagine they might have issues if I started...
  15. I need old parts

Sorry, I'm basically just being overly technical here. Most people refer to the single-channel Falcon head as a DX2 for lack of any better reference. Epson only called it a MicroPiezo head. The three-channel Falcon head is officially the MicroPiezo DX3. The two-channel head used in most...
  16. I need old parts

I beg to differ. http://ftp.epson.com/pdf/pro9k_/pro9k_sl.pdf The Epson Stylus Pro 9000 was built by Mutoh and is basically the same platform as the Falcon Indoor 46. This is the ONLY literature from Epson that designates the head as a "DX" series. The DX3 has 3 channels of 128 nozzles per...
  17. in the market for an 84" solvent printer.

Each pair of channels in an individual head is already staggered by 1 dot so they interleave perfectly. Mutoh printers have (up to the 1634) always run their heads in-line, while Mimaki and Roland physically staggered the heads on some models for a 2" pass width. I wouldn't screw around with...
  18. small UV flatbed choice

The tables on the 1608HA and HS (the HS only differs by an included spectrophotometer) are much more robust than the ones that shipped with the original 1608A. As long as you're not running extra long sheets, or bent sheets, it should be OK. Media loading is the biggest headache. There are some...
  19. Looking at Mutoh printers

Standard warranty is one year, but depending on when you buy and what specials they're running, they often have 2-year warranties available either free or at extra cost. I'd check with a local dealer.
  20. I need old parts

DX2? Do you mean the heads in the Falcon? Those were actually called the DX3 (presumably since it was a 3-color head) by Epson.
