  1. Corner Rounder

The throat size is too small. Like I've said before polymetal just barely fits in it and you have to be very careful to avoid scratches. Coro will not fit or anything much larger than 3mm. It is just irritating to have this wonderful machine and not be able to use it on more materials. I think I...
  2. Corner Rounder

This is a well built machine. http://www.accucutter.com/Cmate%20040.htm A few annoyances but all in all a good machine. We had a Lassco and it was a cheap (made not cost) POS.
  3. Major props to VECTOR DOCTOR!

I think he is an excellent, smart businessman. He is happy with his rate (or he would change it, but please don't) and I'm guessing he'd rather read thread after thread about how good he does and how reasonable he is rather than people bitching about him being too high.
  4. New computer, should i go XP or Windows 7

Go with Win7 Pro 32 bit and you certainly won't be sorry. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116756 It gives you a fully licensed version of XP (running in compat mode) for the apps that won't like Win7. I love XP but upgrading to Win7 will make you quite happy. .
  5. Copyright release questions..

I hold an unpopular opinion on this hot potato subject. Here's how I see it: 1) Customer comes to us for a sign. 2) We design the artwork and charge them for our design time. AFAIC *they* own that artwork. They paid for us to create it so they own it, period. I just don't see how it could...
  6. Alternative to PopUp

I really like PopUp, but damn. Anyone use a similar product that is a more reasonable but with a lower $/SF?
  7. What is your preferred banner tape?

I requested samples of the Power Tape twice now with no response. I guess they aren't too proud of it. I do like the Banner Ups, but they are too high for what they are.
  8. Graphtec cutter - WTF is *that* all about

The Graphtec technician almost had a coronary when I asked him if I should lubricate that part, before I knew the cause. In my case it wasn't about lubrication just that the cylinder was "sticking" to that little pad. Since we got the printer the cutter has been quite idle.
  9. Graphtec cutter - WTF is *that* all about

Issue SOLVED I solved my issue. Refer to the photo. The problem was after the knife sat for awhile there was an ever so slight "stick" at the point indicated by the arrow. This cause a very slight delay before it would drop, and thus the missed cut. I cleaned it with a lint-free cloth...
  10. Graphtec CE50060 Pros & Cons?

Have been using that Graphtec for over 2 years now with excellent results. You will be pleased.
  11. Is Main Tape PerfecTEAR plus any good?

We are using Perfect Tear as well. I have 4 brand new rolls of Rtape Conform sitting here that won't stick to the release liner. Put it down and a couple minutes later huge bubbles and tunnels. The Main tape product is performing well.
  12. What the hot setup in web design these days?

HTML with a little CSS for formating. Anything else (PHP, AJAX, Javascript, Flash, etc) are all bullshit and should be banished from the web. Static HTML pages are where it's at baby, delivering information in a clean, easy to read format. All that other crap is nothing but fluff.
  13. So Windows 7....anyone???

Been using beta for months. Real thing arrived this afternoon from Amazon (bought during the presale quite awhile ago) We bought the upgrade version. Of course you never wanted to upgrade an OS. The upgrade version can be clean installed via a simple hack. Good article here by Paul...
  14. Accepting Credit Cards

Never accepted cards, never will. 70% of our transactions are check, 30% are cold hard jack. In over 2 years never even had a customer ask to use a CC. Difference in rural vs big city I guess. Of course if you are gonna do Internet sales then you would have to take them (and the chargebacks...
  15. 1st Printer Purchase...48" PrismJet (Mutoh)??

I went through the same thing when I bought my cutter years ago. Sure glad I went name brand (Graphtec). Then I went through it again just a few months ago with the printer. Loved the price of the PrismJet, but I am *so* glad we got the genuine Mutoh. Fellers did an excellent job in...
  16. Today's the day

I actually agree. I love XP as it is rock solid, but after 8 years (almost to the day) I am finally ready to move on now that there is something worth moving to.
  17. Today's the day

If you've been suffering with the V do yourself a favor and go get your Windows 7 today. I see Amazon charged me right on que for the ones I pre-ordered months ago.
  18. vertical banding? vj1614

I am seeing the same thing with a brand new 1304 most visible in large sections of blues and red and also in the skintone. Bands that follow the length of the material about 1/4"-3/8" wide and about that far apart.
  19. Fellers Ordering

"There's also condescending guy as well." I got that guy the other day and was surprised since every other time my ordertaker has been courteous and knowledgeable. I mentioned it to the Feller's printer installer guy and he offered to have Frank call me to discuss. I declined but might...
  20. Graphtec cutter - WTF is *that* all about

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check it out on Monday.
