  1. Don't you just love....?

Let's not get too carried away, but there is plenty of good, sound advice and tips you offer that I agree with. Its when you can't put the "bad" Gino in his place and get ugly that things get negative. We can take it one post at a time, just like addicts take it "One Day At A Time".
  2. Don't you just love....?

There's hope for you after all. I just agreed with you agreeing with me and the reasons why.
  3. Don't you just love....?

No, that would be $1.82 per square foot plus shipping. Hems, grommets, original design, and installation extra, depending on needs. I am a proud out-sourcer. I feel it is more fair to the client to get him or her the best quality product I can for a reasonable price. I am not encumbered by...

  5. Don't you just love....?

I think most of us see these things happen all the time and its a real test of one's professionalism and business ethics. I'm not sure we're unique in these types of actions by competitors. I think way too many of us are too reluctant to turn the tables on a chronic ethics violator, enforce our...
  6. Reviews of Roland VG2-540?

Thanks, Are you using the white very much? The model our supplier is pitching to us has the 8 color w/orange option and 2 year trouble-free warranty included. It seems really reasonably priced, so we suspect it was a demo machine they brought to the last SGIA show.
  7. Reviews of Roland VG2-540?

We're shopping for a new 54" printer/cutter and wondering if anyone has an opinion on the new Roland VG2-540?
  8. Attaching 6mm ACM

I mostly agree and we've made simple rectangle signs the way you've just described but find that 6mm or thicker Alupanel has thick enough aluminum to get a good grip on short sheet metal screws used in conjunction with VHB and adhesive. The key being that the bigger area you have to absorb the...
  9. Attaching 6mm ACM

I think that's a pretty heavy panel to trust glue and silicone with. How custom of a shape is it? Unless those studs are going 3-4 inches back into the wall and you make really big blocks for your standoffs so they distribute more of the sheer off the weight, I'd be a little nervous about it.
  10. Attaching 6mm ACM

That's the stuff. We use it for a variety of uses, but mostly for studded dimensional letters and as a secondary adhesive with VHB and screws. I like the consistency of it better than silicone.
  11. Attaching 6mm ACM

Can it be stood off the wall at all? If so, you can make yourself some french cleats out of 1/2" PVC or MDO about 4" tall x 4' long each half piece. Attach the sign side ones with VHB, LEXEL and some really short sheet metal screws that won't penetrate through the face of the sign. You'll need...
  12. Suggestions Where to buy yard signs in bulk

Do you mean the blanks themselves? What technology are you using to decorate them? If flatbed printing, the corona treatment applied in the factory starts aging and degrades rather quickly so you'd get progressively worse and worse print consistency as the panels age. How many could your...
  13. Vinyl for cornhole boards

Our dilemma is that most customers come to us after they've already built the boards from plywood with grain in it and house paint brushed on. Not exactly the best for adhesion. We offer them a couple grades of vinyl depending how lousy of a job they did on the fabrication and painting. Rough...
  14. Need Help At what Ink level do you replace your ink

It's bad enough that most cartridges still have several ounces of ink in them when they are "empty". I'm not about to prematurely yank them out. Those who fret over it need a bulk ink system.
  15. Friday Fun: Current Playlists

Ranchero! Go find some Metalachi or El Vez, The Mexican Elvis and really blow their minds.
  16. Friday Fun: Current Playlists

Where is the Hawkwind, Camel, Eloy and Pink Floyd in there? LOL
  17. Friday Fun: Current Playlists

Napster and Spotify are mixing it up all day. Alice In Chains, Eagles Of Death Metal, UFO, Living Colour, Thin Lizzy, L7, Sonny Clark, Lucinda Williams, Dandy Warhols, Wilco, Son Volt, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Neil Young, most Cubs games, Jeff Beck, NPR, Democracy Now!, list is too long.
  18. Anatomy Of Vinyl Banners...

You might want to read the guidelines about self-promotion.
  19. Finally, we're growing some conscious

Ummm..... the "Camp Fire" last summer was the name given to the big fire up in the mountains above Sacramento. Considering how many people lost their lives, homes and businesses, I'm not sure how funny making a play on words of it is, but I usually consider the source when I see or hear attempts...
  20. Customer requesting refund

The only pertinent thing I remember about it was that the client kept accepting the revisions being made, but at some point said that the layout wasn't working for them and then an extraordinary amount of time went by before the OP noticed the new sign and received the request for a refund.
