  1. Need Help Can I Apply Laminated Cast Prints Wet?

Cleaning the surface and soaking for application are two different things. DO NOT use alcohol as an application fluid.

    By gosh you're right.....o_O
  3. Need Help "marbling" on vinyl

2 different vinyls? Is that dark spot oily feeling? Like wet? Looks to me it's not drying/curing correctly.
  4. Stencil on painted concrete

    I would assume paint mask?
  5. Suggestions installing window frosting with intricate designs

We do this....but we use the same Rapid Tac we installed with. Soak the transfer tape, rub it all around with your hands. Let it dry for a while then go back and it peels right off.
  6. Transparency Gradient

It's always been a frustration not being able to create a gradient like that. Always have to jump to PS to make one.
  7. On garbage cans, print or cut lettering?

If you are going to do prints, and laminate, I would suggest Polycarbonate laminate. Works great for things getting used and abused like that.
  8. Proofing Help

I can't wrap my head around wanting to create a proof from your RIP. Your proof should be a nicely formatted template with the artwork, specs, colors, sizes, etc. in it. Flexi can generate this, and you can create one for use in Illy or Corel or whatever you design with. And I agree, to call...
  9. Need Help wavy printing like a mountain range

Looks like plasticizer migration, but if it happens on different brands of material, it may not be. Interesting.

Can't you cut the roll down?
  11. MACTAC Be Free Clear on Latex

Yes, on the 560/570. It replaces the feed roller underneath and supposedly wipes any contaminants off of your vinyl or banner. It's noisy. And it apparently works! I ran the job with it on and my color was nice and solid.
  12. MACTAC Be Free Clear on Latex

Anyone have issues with this stuff on their HP Latex? I tried printing a job that is a solid color blue basically and it looks like crap....ink is blotchy. I'm about to reload and put in the Wiper Roller, looks like the vinyl is not perfectly clean. Wondering if others have to use the wiper...
  13. helicopter email... ...for a banner?

I can tell you right now, 4' tall isn't big enough for anything. That will look like a party streamer at 1000 ft. Check this site out for info: Banner Towing : Sky Banners : Aerial Advertising : Flying Banners : Airplane Banners : FlySigns.com '
  14. Suggestions Printable material for industrial equipment labels?

Any cast vinyl, without air release (not needed), and laminate with 5 or 10 mil Polycarbonate laminate. This lam will add the "heft", giving a super resilient protective layer.
  15. What is this vinyl?

It's the same mentality behind the customer that calls wanting a price for a sign, you give it to them, and they tell you "my guy does it for half that price." THEN WHY ARE YOU FREAKING CALLING ME?!!!
  16. Sign Warehouse Q54 more expensive than 54" Graphtec...... how?

We have the Q54 and it most definitely has ARMS.
  17. What is this vinyl?

That first pic looks like diffuser vinyl....too opaque to be etch.
  18. Difficult Customers

You kidding? This is a daily thing for sign companies.
  19. SignCraft Pricing Guide...Accurate?

Ha...ok. I'm not telling you what to charge. But it kinda goes with TimToad's point regarding some shops cut-rate pricing affecting the industry as a whole. You and I are in the same market....if someone calls your shop and then ours for a 4'x8' banner, there is a major gap between our prices...
  20. SignCraft Pricing Guide...Accurate?

$126 FOR 4 X 8???? We're more than double that. If you're not $8/ft on your banners over 20 sf you're losing money.
