  1. Not a sign sign, but a sign of the future!

so cool kind of scary too
  2. Substrate pricing

If that's what he meant, I agree with you. He could of also been saying a customer in California might pay more than a customer in Ohio. Your rent and overhead might be more in one place and not another. That is why over the counter price guides are just that A GUIDE. I have a 97 price book...
  3. Graphic design V sign design???

Its easier and easier for the customer to assist in the designing process. You can try to guide or educate but you can only hold there hand so far. It seems like I get more and more "web designers" sending me what their sign should be. Companies replace a graphic department with a couple of 20...
  4. Edge curling on substrates

Is it laminated? Is there heavy ink around the edges? Can you tell if they stretched it? It could be many different things. They could of put it on with rapid tac and no application tape and stretched it. They could have trimmed it while the print was wet. It could of been old or bad vinyl. All...
  5. I just threw up in my mouth a little

correct! I like your way better but I nor the other admin want to search IP address' everyday or watch every hour for a new member to accept. We have a handful of mods that are picked for there contributions to the site. They have full support and backing on their decision making. This site is...
  6. Where to buy Orange Buckets

hey no problem glad I could help. It took me seconds so there might be better pricing out there. I just used google images because I knew what you were describing just not the name. Sometimes google images works faster than searching for something. Good luck!!
  7. I just threw up in my mouth a little

I admin another vbulletin site like this one (not sign related) We instantly ban multiple accounts. It is not fair for good members to welcome a new member with open arms just to find out that member already existed. However with this "merchant member" setup you guys have here it could be a...
  8. Where to buy Orange Buckets

the ones just up from the bottom? http://www.trafficsignstore.com/barricades.html
  9. wrap design

Is there some underground anti Papyrus font movement that I was unaware of? I just don't want any giggles on future projects. Is there any way to make the background image more like the horse? You have a lot of different styles going on. Maybe even blur it and have the edge of the food more...
  10. Wrapping around Van Door Hinges any help???

Are you wanting to wrap the actual hinge? If not and your seam is there then relief a little bellow top of hinge and a little above the bottom and run your squeegee up to it in all 3 directions and trim.
  11. I just threw up in my mouth a little

His advertising warrants any criticism Having a bunch of strangers make fun of him that pay him thousands every year is not going to bother him. With that said he is so tall to support that massive head.
  12. Post your studio layout

Here is a quick walk through video of my shop that I took a couple days after I moved in. I have been in the business since 94' I think, and I have had 5 dif shops. This is by far my most proficient setup. We are a small shop and plan to stay that way. I have approx 2000sq.ft. but over 5000 more...
  13. Cutting twice...

this might be your problem, why are you cutting a outline at all? if you just want a simple graphic cut then just cut the simple graphic. No need to create a outline or if you need to make a outline to make it bigger make sure you are just cutting the outline. To be safe make the outline a...
  14. Cutting twice...

I don't use that plotter but I have a few guesses: If you didn't create the graphic and it was created in Illustrator sometimes it does funky things with outlines. Ungroup and break apart until you delete it and it is gone and then undu one time. Are you just sending it to the plotter as a...
  15. Application Tape Application

Unless I am missunderstanding the setup(laminator) seems counter productive. Unless you really can't deal with a seam. I use 24"-36" ap tape and work with smaller sections up to 10' by myself in a minute or two. I prefer to weed in sections so it's perfect. EZ to swing upside down or whatever. I...
  16. Perf: What are you using?

Maybe I phrased that kind of funny. I meant "only see what is in front of them" Oh and a few passes with the heat gun will take out most squeegee marks.
  17. Perf: What are you using?

No lam or liquid lam seems really sketchy to me. Having a soccer mom possibly behind the wheel toting around some little ones suddenly not be able to see but what is in front of her is something I wouldn't want to worry about everytime it rains.
  18. learning curve - what am i doing wrong?

Knifeless tape looks awesome!!! I wonder if it works on laminated media? I never have any clue if I'm cutting into the finish or not. I have always hoped it never came back to haunt me. The videos I just YouTube look like it's a piece of cake.
  19. Hockey Decals

I have done this several times. I usually give them a couple options. Lower options and higher options. Most of the scuffs are direct hits not rubbing. A cheap rapid air type with lam is my best option. They are selling these for advertising so they are going to go with the cheapest bid 9 times...
  20. Will this work?

It's only a 2'x3' on 10 mil that's only supporting 16.25" over the edge I would trust it's strength more than alumilite or Antoine of diabond type material. 10mil is pretty strong stuff. Maybe not ideal but I'd risk it
