  1. Biodegradable banner

Here is a link to Ultraflexx BioFlex banner media: http://www.ultraflexx.com/PDFs/BIOflex.pdf
  2. is there a simple way to get files properly?

Almost 100% incorrect. Certain flavors of PDF (Preset=high quality print) support embedded color profiles. All EPS files do not.
  3. is there a simple way to get files properly?

Bravo 2CT, most are blissfully unaware that different file formats either support or do not support embedded color information inside of them. EPS files as a class do not, while TIF, JPG, and certain flavors of PDF do support embedded profiles.
  4. Print/Lam/Cut "eye" question

In the 1st origin corner (the circle mark with the rectangle next to it), the machine scans for the circle and then the rectangle. If it sees an X-axis offset in that small amount of area, it extrapolates this across the entire width of the media, in the form of the small movements that you...
  5. Need wholesale supplier for flag banners/swooper flags?

These guys are located in PA (your backyard): http://www.texvisions.com/ They do custom wholesale printing onto nylon, polyester and more.
  6. printer not printing cyan

On the SP-540v the black and cyan inks are delivered via the same head. You are seeing what is commonly referred to as cross-contamination. I would replace the Cyan damper (at least), and captop assembly. After they're installed, run a few cleanings and you should be good to go.
  7. pantone / cmyk bridge question

Pantone Color Bridge's CMYK values are intended to show the closest CMYK match possible to Pantone spot colors, using an offset press that is adhering to SWOP standards. The CMYK values are as useless as (redacted) on a bull for any digital printer that is trying to match Pantone colors as...
  8. How do you profile for reflective and translucent?

Translucent media is best profiled using a transmissive spectrophotometer, such as a DTP41T. Your i1 Pro is a reflective spectro, and is not the best type of device to use for that media. Reflective media can be problematic for reflective instruments as well.
  9. Color distortion at start of print

Sounds like you are describing cross-contamination. This can be attributed to several possible causes, including inconsistent amounts of ink in colors going to the head, maintenance station issues (wicking), and in severe cases, damper problems.
  10. PTF Profile Files

PTF is a file format used by Flexi 8 and higher. It stands for Preset Transfer File, and is intended to be a packaged media configuration for the SAi RIP. The PTF should include a custom ICC as a component of the PTF, along with channel ink limits, lineariazation info, and total ink limit info...
  11. ICC Profile Creation Software

What ICC Profile Creation Software application do you use?
  12. Weird problem with Avast & Prevx?

While I'm not really familiar with Prevx, a cursory review of their site indicates that it is an anti-virus (as well as other forms of malware) product. Generally speaking, it is not a good idea to be running multiple anti-virus products on the same system, as they tend to conflict with each other.
  13. FlexiSign 10 - Can you adjust profiles?

In FlexiSIGN-Pro, the RIP component is located in the companion Production Manager application. Changes to medias that you want to make permanent (global) should be made there, and not in Flexi's RIP & Print dialog.
  14. VersaWorks - rml files

That is correct, unless you are using a dongle-based version of the RIP.
  15. VersaWorks - rml files

The RML file should contain all of the information you list. However it is a proprietary format that is only able to be processed by Versaworks. You need to install the RML into the RIP via Media Explorer - install new media icon. Once the new media is installed, you can see the ink limits and...
  16. Banding Question

My first thought is that the media may not be perpendicular to the machine (90 degrees), causing inconsistent media feed across the width of the media. Also check for contaminants on the drum or pinch rollers. Lastly, the media could theoretically be the problem if it is thicker on one side than...
  17. royal sovereign adjustment

There are set screws on each end bell that allow the top roller to be adjusted up or down. I would set the rollers to a neutral position, and adjust from there. The rollers are crowned, so you are looking to equalize the amount of gap at the two edges of the rollers, with the centers of the...
  18. Printing on Dacron

Not your printer. Dacron is a derivative of PET, so a direct disperse ink may work, but not solvent ink.
  19. I want to kick some Flexi azz!!!

Then I have good news: The 'Flexi' RIP actually is in Production Manager. It is pretty simple to do: 1) Open PM (Production Manager). Be sure that you see both sides/ panes of the program. You should see the output devices in the left pane, and jobs listed in the right pane. 2) Select the...
