  1. "Can you email me the file?"

So when you get your car serviced by a mechanic, the tools that he used are now yours?
  2. Why the limited gamut?

Again, I'm not doing this with any color images, just B&W photos, as I'm experiencing the all too common problem of the grays (on these solvent printers) being too far off of a nice neutral tone.
  3. Why the limited gamut?

Thanks. Do you mean the CMYK values under "Color Adjustments" in VW?
  4. Neat Desk

Um, no. Google is your friend.

    "Piqued."
  6. "Can you email me the file?"

They are laminated (matte or gloss) both sides, rendering them tear-proof and water-proof, with a heavy, substantial feel as opposed to the ubiquitous limp paper card which quickly becomes dog-eared and quietly whispers "It's ok to throw me away". People are much less inclined to toss a slick...

  8. What, exactly, makes sign people qualified to design anything?

Oh ya, I forgot about clip-art. :Big Laugh :Big Laugh :Big Laugh
  9. What, exactly, makes sign people qualified to design anything?

Ah but what about the "good" designer who draws a blank on a particular job and/or just produces something poor - it can & does happen.
  10. Annoying little window

But would't it be std practice to simply use a Ctrl+D command to copy something if you're just using it within that same file? I don't know any other software that brings up this little window.
  11. Annoying little window

But if you click "no", why did you Copy in the first place?
  12. Why the limited gamut?

So would it fair to say that for me, at this stage of the game, without getting into profiling, the best I can do to get an acceptable (not perfect) neutral gray in my B&W photo prints on my solvent SPi is to make small adjustments to the CMYK settings under the color tab in VW?
  13. Why the limited gamut?

    Great - thanks!
  14. Why the limited gamut?

Yes, it is the grays (in a B&W photo print) that I'm referring to and trying to nail. But I'm afraid my question went unanswered. I'll ask it again: "Are the adjustments to the CMYK values that we can make under the Color tab in VersaWorks essentially the same as I was erroneously doing in...
  15. Why the limited gamut?

Well I'm in way over my head here; I don't have the tools, software or ability to create profiles, but this is still nagging at me: Is adjusting the CMYK values in Media Explorer (see Color 1) any different than adjusting the CMYK values under the "Color" tab in VersaWorks (Color 2), or is it...
  16. Fine banding

But I guess I'm wondering if that is causing the super-fine banding I've shown when printing with the K channel only. Yes, the CMY will mask it if they're involved in a B&W print, but the K-only is revealing. Yes, this particular issue I'm having is on their Rite Media Matte paper (but it...
  17. What, exactly, makes sign people qualified to design anything?

Yes, having good sales skills is a huge part of it.
  18. Why the limited gamut?

Hmmm, but how else do I combat the considerable pink or green tones when printing a B&W photo?
  19. Fine banding

Hey, check out the missing dash. Doesn't that suggest a plugged nozzle?
