  1. Falcon Outdoor - Auto Clean?

Does anyone with a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor printer know if the machine performs any unattended automatic cleaning operations at time intervals? I know that the Roland and Mimaki solvent printers do this, but don't know if the Falcon Outdoor does. If it does, can the interval between cleanings be...
  2. Activity POS Sign Accounting Software

Activity POS I noticed that they had a booth at ISA earlier this month. Here is a link to their web site: http://www.activitysoftware.com/ I've heard mixed things about their software and support, but you can make up your own mind. Bob
  3. Roland Printer Driver Problem!!

I would suggest that you update the installation of Versaworks to the current release of 2.2.2. This can be done with the application closed, by clicking Start > Programs > Roland Versaworks > Online Update. Of course, you'll need to be online for the update to proceed. I believe that the...
  4. Roland Printer Driver Problem!!

Which RIP and operating system are you using? If it's Windows Vista, you'll need the latest version of Versaworks (2.2.2), and there are directions on the Roland USA web site for the driver installation under Vista. Bob
  5. Urgent - E078 AFTER HEAT error on a valuejet 1064

This is a heater error, I believe that is related to the front platen heater (dryer). At least on the 1204, Mutoh has issued new front platens, not sure about the 1604 though. Bob
  6. Welding text and a object

In Flexi (and it's OEM versions) there is a parameter in the Preferences dialog box called Weld based on Color. If it's checked, only objects with the same fill color will weld. If it's unchecked, any color will weld.
  7. ICC profiles for Flexi and Hp 3500 CP

It is highly unlikely that you will find support for the HP Designjet 3500CP on media manufacturer web sites at this point. The CP series printers were discontinued in the year 2000 when the Designjet 5000 series came out. Moreover, your RIP software (Flexi 7.x) did not hit the market until the...
  8. Digital Printing

Fly, drive or hitchike to Las Vegas (if it's the latter, I'd leave now) to attend the ISA Expo trade show. It's the best opportunity of the year to see everything under one roof. Show dates are April 12-14. www.signexpo.org
  9. So What's YOUR ValueJet Print Mode?

The media profile that you are using in the RIP will define which mode is used. Deviating from the print mode dictated in the media profile will essentially invalidate the media profile.
  10. Print Head Cleaning Swabs

Chicago: Please provide a link...that is quite inexpensive if they are the right type of foam swab. Bob
  11. Has anyone tried the Rugen training tapes?

The Rugen tapes are fine for the very raw beginner, but don't add much for those with a wee bit of experience with the software. On the other hand, the production values are good for a hearty laugh!
  12. SP-300 Print Problem

I believe that the problem you are seeing is related to the settings in the RIP software. Depending on what media you are printing onto, you will need a profile built for that media. As black is the most dense color, what you are seeing is the effect of too much black ink (no ink limits)...
  13. Runtime Error! production manager won't open

Production Manager Lock-Up The solution is to close FlexiSIGN as well as all other programs except Windows itself. Next, click Start > Programs > FlexiSIGN...> Clear Preferences (or Preferences Manager in Flexi 8). Click OK to confirm the operation. Next, launch Production Manager, either...
  14. Quick ? for the Flexi useres.....

Not quite sure what you are asking...several print modes/ resolutions are supported in the RIP's driver. As I don't have that plotter, that's about all I can say.
  15. Mutoh ValueJet - Anyone have any thoughts?

I have no doubt that the ValueJet printer is an upgrade from the Falcon Outdoor line. Frankly, that is not saying all that much. The problem as I see it is that from a media standpoint, the width of the printer is effectively 48 inches. There is next to no media availability that I see in the 48...
