I was talking about vinyl. It is the same way with paint, they will blame everything under the sun to weasel out of it. If you do manage to get them to warranty it, they will give you more material but you are out all of the labor time and consumables which is the biggest cost.
Where there's a will there's a way. Before I got my fancy new tools, I used to cut a light straight line with a grinder, clamp it to the table, clamp a 2x4 to the other side and bend it. It brakes right on the score if you do it right.
You may be right. I dunno how many battery chargers that my employees have burnt up by hooking them up to 24v, I have even drawn them a picture of how to do it right. Never underestimate stupidity

They have been around forever. I use a small gun for touchup but customers want touch up paint and this is what I tell them to use if a brush wont work.
Most of the pre-packaged templates that I have used are good enough for a full wrap but aren't accurate enough to pull a window recess or other elements from. If you plan to pre-cut and drop it in, you will have to make your own.
I agree but would probably say the lack of people installing and the rise of independent installers is due to the headaches involved. All of the hoops you have to jump through today can make it a very losing proposition for a sign shop and there are easier ways to make money in the business...
I'd lean towards aluminum mounted with spacers or made into a pan like a raceway and painted black.
You could get fancy and take a picture of the brick in that same spot, print it, stick it to the aluminum and then mount your letters.
