It's just the very first ones that had the stepper motors. Just make sure the model number is F1612-1 through F1612-4. Those all have servo motors. The later ones just have a different "safety sensor" setup. I am pretty sure -1 through -3 have the vacuum selector module where -4 has 4 vacuum zones.
I have been using the AP-2155. I agree the 3155 is nasty!! The 2155 still stinks, but has worked great for me on anything from coroplast to acrylic to ACP.
General Formulations has a high tack that is removable, but is only in white as far as I know. You could try printing on Substance 3150 laminate. I have used that several times for clear decals and it works great. I doubt it would be super removable though.
For calendared, I use Substance. For cast, I have been using the Briteline optically clear stuff.
However, Substance is working on a line of cast laminates now! I can't wait until their done and I can switch over to those!
I like Optiscout. I was actually using it with my Summa for a while. I had some issues with a mainboard going out. The ONLY thing I can narrow it down to was that something with the new firmware on the Summa was glitching out with how Optiscout was sending the files over. I switched back to...
oh yeah! You can look up pics of people who have cut vinyl with their CO2 lasers and didn't pay attention to it. The insides end up looking like they are all rusted out! Can't image what that is doing to your lungs either.
If I rememeber right, when I had my 360, Caldera didn't manage that one either. It had to do with the algorithim HP used which did it's own calibrating. I thought it was weird too, but never had any issues with it.
if I were to get another, I would get the OPOS CAM!! That is way nicer!!
I have the regular OPOS as the "CAM" version didn't pair with a mac and Caldera.
