  1. Looking to "wrap" a Dirt Track Car

Substance Pm-2755 with Laminate is what we use. Great Air Release film, for a really cheap price.
  2. Decal stock advice

    Substance 2755, 3755, or X1
  3. Substance vinyl issues

We run 30” rolls of substance x1 everyday and have for years with no issues on our hp115. We currently run all of our stuff on a 3M profile on their media and have great results. I’m thinking it’s something printer related with the heat curing temp. That would be my first guess. Other than...
  4. HP315

What’s the material, and what cure temp is it set to?
  5. Frosted Glass Vinyl for Race Stripes?

I would recommend Orafol 951 Clear with a Matte Laminate. Or another possible option would be Arlon Ever Etched with Flite technology. It’s a frosted glass film with air egress to help with install and should be fine on a vehicle.
  6. Old VE LXi files not opening in SAi Flexi.

With Flexi open, open a new window and navigate to your file you want to open. Click and drag the desired VE Lxi file into your Flexi software. Should paste the contents in with no issue.
  7. .EPS files from AI

I had this issue with eps files as well. Cutting paths twice when there was one cut line. It would do it on 90% of files. That was with the Flexi Rip. I Switched to onyx and the same files cut correctly with only one cut every time.
  8. Printing 70/30 Solvex Perf on a Hp Latex 360 - dry ink areas

More than likely a curing problem, try it with a different profile or different curing temps and see if it still does it. Could be a bad roll, but I would think it’s a curing issue from what I see
  9. Will a properly set up HP 115 latex printer print grainy images?

It depends on what you’re trying to achieve. My Latex 115 prints amazing for most things. I run a lot of 3-4” stickers, some colors can have some light grain, some are super smooth. Printing environment, media, and settings will affect it too to some degree as well. I’ve never had anyone...
  10. General Formulations GF830 Automark vs Arlon SLX+

Haven’t tried gf830, but have done plenty of wraps with SLX+. Arlon SLX+ is closer to Avery 1105 in my opinion based on initial tack and stretchability. Requires a little more heat to conform than 1105 I feel like. Holds nicely in deep channels. It’s a Great choice for wrapping.
  11. Avery Wrap Film Search HELP

On all color change films you’ll have to check availability when working with the customer on what color they want. A lot of colors by a lot of manufacturers are hard to get right now and are hit or miss on being in stock.
  12. Hp115 Print Quality

I run a Latex 115, and as mentioned above, that is most likely a print head issue with the optimizer or other print heads. Also do a manual print head alignment, the auto alignment sucks on these machines in my opinion. You could also check to make sure the optimizer level is not set too high or...
  13. Wrapping over/across window trim

You'll want to avoid wrapping the window trim most of the time. The vinyl will usually fail on anything that is rubber because it expands and contracts under heating and cooling. It also holds oils and other grime that will leach into it. Chrome trim is fine to wrap however.
  14. Why oh why does my printer print greys pink?

Check your lighting, not saying this is your problem, but sometimes I'll have a gray that looks as if it has a pink hue, but after I take it outside it looks perfect. Just something to keep in mind as your lighting plays a role in how colors look.
  15. High tack clear

This is what you need, 550LSE https://www.substanceincorporated.com/pdp.php?item=9
  16. Printing bright red on our HP Latex 365

We bump up the ink limit to 120% if we want a good red on our latex. The more ink you lay down the more vibrant the color will be. Make sure your color calibration is up to date as well. A good bright red for us is something like 100%M /90%Y /0%C /0%K
  17. 3M 2080 Deep Space..... Have you used it recently?

It does have it, keep in mind that you have to "bend" the swatch and move it around in extreme angles to see some of the colors. Think about it being on a vehicle with different angles, it's easier to see when you have bigger panels and curves. Deep space is a very dark color though and can tend...
  18. Need Help Newbie Wanting to Wrap My Boat

You should be safe using SLX if not doing a full wrap. I've done full wraps with SLX and SLX + last year with mixed results on bass boats. If just doing a single stripe you'll be fine using it, just make sure to post heat via Arlon specs
  19. Race Car Wrap Printing?

Everyone uses overlays, I don't know of anyone using flourescent inks on them. We usually lay the overlays under the laminate, but honestly you could do it on top without issue as well, most cars don't last more than one season anyways so it doesn't really matter which way you do it.
  20. 3M 8915 Ultra Matte Laminate Alternatives?

Arlon 3270 will probably be your best bet if you can find some. I just recently ordered a roll from GSG. It seems to have more of a matte finish than Avery 1380 matte which is what I typically use. I was really impressed with it and will probably use it from here on out honestly.
