I have a client that is wanting to sandblast a logo of just block lettering onto a stainless steel counter and they are asking for a blast mask. I am not worried about adhesion so much as a product that will hold up to the blasting, leaving nice clean lines around the letters. Any product out...
I could really use a source for the Curved frames they used to sell. JPP has a few but not the right size. You used to be able to get one that fit a 8.5x14 insert.
I have a 661 and yeah you do need to shake the ink pretty regularly. It will alert you to shake either W or All the cartridges. I have left it for a few days and you just need to come back, shake everything and run a short clean. Should be good to go.
I have a Mutoh XpertJet 661UF UV printer and it works well on powder coated panels. I also use bohle metal primer on them with great success. I have also used some DTF transfers to powder coating with great results.
355TH Owner here. Been happy with it overall, and any issues that I have had with it were 100% my fault. Also the heat works great for laminating UV DTF Transfers or if you want to laminate hard substrates.
By far the most common frustration I have is trying to explain what art file I need. "But, It's right there, I can see it on the computer screen, it looks fine."
Interesting... They were on there a few weeks ago. I did call into Lexjet to ask some questions and get more info about customer satisfaction etc. Guy I talked to was pretty confident that they worked every bit as good. Sited a few incidents where a cartridge didn't work for one reason or...
I produce a fair amount of ADA signage in house. I used to do the braille beads after holes were drilled with an old xenetech rotary engraver. This process was laborious but did work. We then purchased a DCS small format UV machine. This did increase our productivity tremendously, however the...
Not PNW local but I am in Southern Oregon and Lexjet.com has a warehouse in Sparks, NV I usually get my orders in a day or two with free shipping. Great customer service as well. Sun Supply stocks a lot of media as well and is in Seattle and Portland.
Thanks Brad! some great advice. I want to produce a quality product that stands up. Failure produces change. I appreciate you taking the time to type all that out I will definitely keep this advice in my back pocket for future projects.
Thank You! I appreciate the feedback. I will be definitely not be using black PVC for any exterior lettering in the future. Been making signs for 3 years and still have a lot to learn. Went with this method only due to the customers budget and the fact that the previous shop I worked for used it...
Ah yes, thank you Gino for your professional input on this. The fine folks here at Signs101 can always count on you for your kind words of encouragement, uplifting attitude and extensive knowledge base.
Hello!
I used 19mm (3/4") black PVC for this dimensional sign on a west facing wall with no overhang. We are not quite a year after installation and I have this major warping going on.. So much that it is popping the letters out of the standoffs. Has anyone had this happen?? I have used this...
