  1. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

Phil, I have finally figured this thing out I think in large part due to Allen at Airmark. He was extremally helpful and professional. And because of that I will be placing an order for some misc. supplies. I appreciate the help and you have gained a customer. P.S. It was a loose wire between...
  2. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

Phil, Thx for the response. I have left a message for them to call me back. Hopefully they can save this thing. I cant imagine it being much of a problem.
  3. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

hands down worst customer support I have ever seen. I asked for a list of service dealers and they replied with " we already gave you that" I mean they spent as much time typing that response as it would have taken to give me the list. which they did.... a year ago, for the same issue that has...
  4. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

I think it might be related. when the head moves all the way to the right and the little ramp raises the OPOS sensor... the sensor does not come back down when it starts to move off of the ramp. about an 1/8th of an inch off the ramp it stops and logs the code.
  5. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

when you say "optical sensor" are you referring to the pinch roller sensor or the OPOS sensor? sounds like the same problem you are referencing.
  6. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

Actually it does not "go back and forth" it goes into failure mode before it gets that far. I read somewhere that it could be the OPOS sensor causing that. Yes I located it (or the bottom portion of it) but I am not sure how to remove and replace it. I would gladly pay someone to service it but...
  7. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

Thanks, I might try and find that site. Or maybe even reach out to the corp.
  8. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

Thank you. Good to know where to get them. I appreciate it. I have located and cleaned this sensor and for the money might go ahead and order one although I believe this may not be it for the following reason.... at start up the machine first returns home (all the way to the right) and then...
  9. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

I bought it from the original owner. A small shop that was closing. It is only a couple years old and looks to have had very little use. It is a D120RL. The problem is an error code "turn plotter off pinch rollers not found" and it happens 90% of the time. I have called every number associated...
  10. Any Humans that actually work on Summa plotters in the United States

After a year of trying I am starting to think the only way I will get any value from this Summa plotter is to film dropping it from my 40' bucket truck. Although I would much rather pay someone to get it to work. Problem is, I dont think that person exists. If anyone knows of someone please share.
  11. Summa D120RL Pinch Rollers Not Found

I inspected the OPOS sensor and it appears to be as it should at east mechanically.
  12. Summa D120RL Pinch Rollers Not Found

I will do some internet searching to try and identify this part and look into it. this makes some sense as a possible problem rather than the pinch roller sensor because upon start up, the head never moves from the home position (which it would need to in order to read the pinch rollers) before...
  13. Summa D120RL Pinch Rollers Not Found

I attempted to however I am not completely sure I did it effectively. I cleaned what I could see of it.
  14. Sign Tape?

I have tried every tape sold and for 30 years have always used scotch clear tape. (like you wrap gifts with) it is much thinner which gives you a better and crisper edge. it is also cheaper. Fold it over itself at the end for a handle to remove. It don't bend well but does fine for arched letters.
  15. Summa D120RL Pinch Rollers Not Found

Hello all, Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction. I have been a year off and on trying to resolve this issue. Countless phone calls and emails to anyone affiliated with Summa and no luck yet. I have the "turn plotter off pinch rollers not found" error message. in hundreds of...
