Thanks for all the advice guys. We got the printer and laminator and have a general idea of costs now.
FireSprint.com thanks for all the videos. I own a similar size print shop by revenue, but for sublimation, and man would be nice if I found your videos a few years earlier. I got a question...
Hey, thanks for the reply. Agreed about the material and machine costs. Those are easy to calculate and speeds of print/cut are known. What I struggle with is knowing how much labour is needed per sticker - without the packing.
Somebody needs to take roll from printer and insert it into...
Hello, we are a high-volume sublimation print shop expanding into custom stickers soon. I am having trouble calculating how much a sticker will really cost us. Could you guys help me out a bit?
The unknown to me is:
- how much time it takes to setup laminator, load the roll...
- how much time...
Total ink limit is the maximum amount of all ink combined on one area. At CMYK printers maximum is 400% (C100+M100+Y100+K100). For me it is the hardest thing to set right and when you change it you need to do the ICC profile all over again. It does affect color gamut and the print costs as you...
We have all linearisations done with 180 - 210% total ink limit. Some say it is too much, some say it is too little. Transfer is on fabric.
This study says anything above 100% is money thrown away...
I am looking for a RIP that will allow us to post jobs to it using rest api instead of downloading files onto local machine and moving them to hotfolders. Does anybody have any experience or ideas what rip has that?
Do you remember what your calculations were? It makes sense to account for lost ink as well.
If consumption is 15ml/m2 then cost, at least for our margins, is significant. If it is really 1-2ml/m2 then I agree, cost is nothing.
You suggest electric heater versus oil heater only because of the heat time?
I tested a few X brand electric heaters but the heating consistency was terrible.
You can do large format heat press or piece to roll calander. Depends also on your needs and sizes you want to do. Both have + and -.
1. Calander
- a long startup and a long cool down. You need to be present during both as the felt could get damaged if the machine stops for some reason (power...
We have three F6300 without any issues or color shifts, the oldest one being 3 years old. All ICC profiles and density are custom made. The hdK ink is mixed once per week without any notice in shift of color.
Actually the only issue with the printers is that the mechanism inside of paper roll...
We print thousands of jobs per day and after testing EpsonEdge (came with printer...), Caldera, Onyx and Ergosoft, only Ergosoft could handle the volume without crashing or lagging. They have some of the best and most advanced automation features that I could not find in other RIPs, amazing...
Hey all,
I am interested to know what are you ink consumptions per m2/square foot for sublimation.
All dealers are telling me I should calculate 15ml/m2 but after some calculations we are really using 1-1.5ml/m2 with Epson f6300 and 2ml/m2 with Mutoh XPJ 1642.
Ink limit is set to 200-220%...
