    Good thought thanks. Another issue I realised today is that my install from original CD's was vs 9, whereas back in 2011 I had upgraded to 9.1. So even if this new install worked, none of my work files will open being created into later version. I will see if I have the 9.1 upgrade, but I doubt it.

    sadly that has not been my experience, I had a computer techie try everything, the problem is the HASP dongle I use which is no longer supported. Looks like I shall have to upgrade.

    Thanks lads, I was fishing for ideas here, I only got the new computer today, and had a tech guy set it up with a local account and no MS account for privacy. I have yet to install signlab with the dongle, but it will be worth a try. I will keep you posted if I succeed or fail.
