1640 “splotchy”

We have a Colorado 1640- and new to it, but it’s not a new machine, has been serviced well… We don’t have a tech available in our area and waiting on getting into a self maintainer class.

Would anybody know what might be causing this splotchy UV… we are also new to Onyx. I’ve been on tech support with both Canon and Onyx but hard to show them what I mean with the output. I’ll try again this week when back in the office, but wondering if any of you would know or be able to pin-point what’s happening here.

Using a very lightweight paper.

These are pictures from a test paper we got from Canon verse ours. There’s is the bottom one- you’ll see it’s smoother. And then there’s ours that just looks like splotchy UV?? Maybe? Then the back is on ours looks almost saturated through. Same paper- I think they did use a 1650 to test though… is that the difference or is this an Onyx issue orrrr something else?! . I’ve been on with canon and Onyx for hoooours this week!

Lol thanks for any insight- from a newbie!

I've seen this on some vinyl and paper for the first few feet of a roll and after the roll sits out out of the machine.

It's like something happens to the first few winds on a roll from air exposure and it get splotchy like that.

There is a 6 mil vinyl I use and the first couple feet on a new roll or after a roll sits out is splotchy like that

If you are finding the Canon paper working well enough, then the paper you are trying to use is obviously trying to absorb the ink (like a drop of beer in a napkin). You likely aren't getting a full cure and my guess is the paper print smells like UV ink??? We sell a crap ton of a paper we found which works very well on the Colorado (and on solvent/latex). It just seems like a great catch-all paper, but I don't know what demands you have, but it might be worth trying a new paper.

I have this happen on the Colorado when I use too high of a print mode on thinner paper. I usually have to use one of the lower production modes when I print on thinner paper like drawing/pounce paper.

Any update? I am also facing this issue but I can't find any proper solution. I tried to search for it on many sites but couldn't find the solution. I came here in the hope of finding a solution but it made me sad when I found out that there is no answer over here as well. Is your problem solved now? If yes, then can you please tell me how you resolved it? Recently, I switched from normal gaming to casino gambling. Since I am from Macedonia. some of the last sites I was playing on were removed. so now I have switched to another site, which was suggested by https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-casinos/macedonia-mkd Casinosanalyzer. This review service clarifies everything from game choice to how to pay. It saves me time and prevents stress by helping me find the right casino quickly. If you are also from Macedonia, then you can visit Casinosanalyzer, to find the list of best gambling sites and can get free spins and bonus with signup.
Any update?
