We have a 2008 Roland Versacamm VP540 with take up for sale. The good is its had a black printhead replaced 6 years ago and the Magenta printhead replaced last summer, and just put new inks in last month. The bad is we think it has a crack in the solder for the network connection on the main board. What happens is the printer may quit while printing and go to a now processing message on the printer itself. We had some success using a heater pointed at the back of the printer (heating up the solder and expanding it enough to get the job done).
I haven't had this problem when only using the plotter. Seems if only doing a cut path on vinyl the Roland works fine.
