3m Paint Protection film

I have a manufacturer client that needs some instructions and die cuts for a product he manufacturers.

I was hoping to print the instructions and logo on the Paint Protection film and cut them into cards to include in the packaging. The printing is not for long term use. The contour cut pieces will be left clear.

He specifically requested 3m 84906.

Anyone familiar with printing on paint protection films. It looks like UniGARD does not recommend printing on the film.

Is this true for most films?

If you can run it through your printer, you can print on it. 99% of the time this is true. The only problems you'll have are, image quality, and longevity of the print.

Has anyone tried?

I guess we will order a small sheet and will report back our findings...
