Just got CS4 Design Premium and was excited about the fonts I hoped to get with it all. However, there seem to be a number of fonts that aren't smooth looking fonts, and it's a large number of them.
I'm not a designer, I don't play one on tv, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I am a curious one, so can someone explain to me what fonts like :

are used for? Are they supposed to be like that, or am I missing something really obvious (high probability of that)?
