Afford-A-Black ink in Epson 1400 - Anyone using it?

I've got a new Epson 1400 to print Film positives with and I ordered a Afford-A-Black Cartridge for it. The box says it goes in slot 6 Black, but that's not where the black cartridge is in the printer. The Cartridge says it goes in slot 2 Black which matches the printer cartridge configuration. So I put it in Slot 2 where the black cartridge is. Printer won't recognize it. Says it's either empty or no cartridge inserted. Call for help, I'm told I'm putting it in the wrong slot or there is a misprint on the box. So they send me another one today. I open it and it says the same thing!

Does anyone else use this ink in a 1400 for positives? How do you make it work???
