Algerian font And weeding

I need some advice is there any good way to weed the negative space around the Algerian font is the Algerian font? Currently the peace I am working on it is taking me about 30 minutes so far and I am not even a quarter of the way done I have The typeface set at about 4" high and the little offset lines are giving me a bit of trouble

I always just set the force up and the speed down when cutting - takes longer but weeds easier
