American LaFrance Graphics

I was looking through some pictures on the internet of historic American LaFrance fire trucks and there was some talk of the styles of lettering and graphics that were unique to the company. Recently American LaFrance ceased operations and all the assets were auctioned off. I saw where some plotters were sold at auction, but that was about it. I would love to find out if there was a way to get my hands on the graphics records from the company, if there were any. It would be a shame to see all that history disappear. Does anyone on here have any connections with the company or know anything about their graphics?

Probably will never find it. The designs were likely on one employee or another's computer which is probably long gone by now. The company changed hands, changed management, and moved so many times over the past 10 years its really amazing they managed to keep things together as long as they did once Freightliner dropped them. The designs for the most part would have been done specifically for some customer or another but they also had plenty of their own that they did for demo vehicles over the years, and they did a LOT of demo trucks. I think more than customer ones at times. I was sad to see them go - over the years I've worked on literally hundreds of ambulances and fire trucks and the LaFrance made ones always seemed to be the underdog. They were less common on the ambulance side but they did make them, they were much more geared towards the fire and "rescue" side of things. I've been to 3 different facilities of their here in SC over the years. The last one was pretty cool looking but things always seemed a bit scattered. We picked up a couple of different trucks from them to bring back here to do graphics on them over the years for different clients and things were never ready when they said they would be.
