I have an order for 5000 6x3" static cling decals. Last week we Printed off a batch of 350 on clear static cling from kapco that has been in our shop for almost a year, it printed good. When we got the go ahead from the 5000 we order a roll of solvex and I cant get it to print good at all.

Anyone have luck printing on this stuff?

Maybe I read it wrong. You did samples on one product then tried to do run on another? Not a solvex fan myself, won't have it in the shop.

Static cling is a pain to print on the roland. If you use their recommended profile I think it prints unidirectional and takes forever to print. This quantity would be best subbed out to Stouse.
Whenever I do small quantity static clings I just print on regular oracal vinyl and then mount to the static cling.

Hello everybody I have done some trying around with this Solvex cling and this is what I have to do
First I should say that I have Onyx Postershop 10, and a Roland VP-540 OD (out dated)
ok lets get started:
Open postershop
- Click on Media Manager icon on top
- Create Profiles/Clone Existing Printing Mode
- Pick your Printing mode from the list (I prefer CMYK RIP Glossy Calender Vinyl Low Pass)
- Click print button to go to next step
- Click on selected media just to verify and check copy all modes from media (just to play with the different modes later) Next
- Give it a New name like Solvex Static Cling, and pick the same media group, then Next and you are Done! with first part.
- Return to Postershop main home and click on Configure Printer,
- Look for your clone in the media tab, once you find it click Options
- Now! This is where you have to pay all the attention, this are the settings I used:
- Fun Power: Normal
- Pass delay: 0
- Bi-directional printing: unchecked
- Enable cutter: unchecked
- Drying time: 30 seconds (up to you basically)
- Dryer: 50
- Overprint: 1
- Feed Speed: unchecked as is (30)
- Head Height: Low ofcourse
- Printer heater: 45
- Feed up to dryer: Off (I don't have one)
- Now! Very important: Don't click OK yet!!!
- Start selecting each one of the print Modes, and click Modify!
- This are the last setting take it easy:
- Calibration: 0.05%
- Scan Speed: 657
- Page Advance: 40
- And leave everything else as is
- Then OK.
- do this for each mode and then OK.
- and try it

By the way yes it will take a long time to print, but it will print beautiful just in the standard quality

Now basically I copied this settings from VW White Static Cling profiles

did anybody got any results, let me know
