Hey everybody,
In the 10 years I have been in business (1 man business) I have gone through a few different brands of paint in an attempt to find one that fits my needs and is durable for the customer. I live in a historical town and they are a little behind the times but require the use of MDO signs for business owners so I do a lot of those.
The latest paint that I have been trying is the Sherwin Williams emerald urethane trim paint. I like this paint and it is conveniently right down the street. I have some signs out there that are 6-7 years old where the face still looks great but the edges always peel after a couple of years. And yes I spend lots of time rounding my edges and filling them with a good wood filler making sure they are smooth.
My question is what paint do you all recommend that would adhere to the edges for more than a few years that is affordable, unlike Mathews paint. I have lung issues and I roll paint but obviously I wear a good mask. So if you can recommend any good water based paints you get an extra point. I know about Ronan aquacote but you don't really see much about it.
Should I just say the heck with it and go back to the smelly, pain in the ass, enamels like 1-shot?
Any help is appreciated.
