Anyone figured out how to get Cutting Master 4 to work on AI2026 and Windows 11?

We have tried this on four different systems. We can get it to work by checking through the hundreds of errors that CM causes on AI startup but I'd like to fix that if possible. We can't run CM5 because it doesn't support our FC8000 plotter.

I think you are going to want 2024 or 2022 Ai for stability. I don't think it is officially supported for use with Ai2026.

I think support for the plugin ended in what 2024, so I doubt it's going to be patched to work for future versions. Wonderful world of always being on latest and greatest.

A Hail Mary could be to manually move the plugin to the newer Ai installation, but that may or may not work. Again, not officially supported, so at any point even that may not work even if it previously did.

Knows just enough to get in a lot of trouble..
I have always just copy and pasted from the old plug-in folder to the new plug-in folder (doing it now for AI 2026 and CM4) and have yet to have a problem with it.

The cut files are downward compatible. So if we run out of capacity we restart our 15 year old cutter, we export a cutfile from CM5 (instead of sending it to the cutter) , open CM4 app, load the file into it and start cutting. Works like a charm for us.

Ours is the same way. It will work together, but you can't use the most recent version of Adobe Illustrator. (I think Illustrator 2024 works, but we just kept going back a version and testing it until it worked.)

& make sure to turn off the automatic updates for Adobe on that computer that you are using for production!

You should be able to move it to the same plug in folder to 2026, and it should technically work. I’ve heard people on here say it’s fine, but CutMaster does not have a version for it.We switched to 5 and it’s been amazing. You can plot with way less margins and it’s been helping us a lot. I’ve just stayed in Adobe 2025, but I’ll try moving it tomorrow and see if it works.

We are running into the same issue. I talked with Graphtec and was told it would work with the new Cutmaster5 if we did a firmware update on the plotter. However they also said "So you are aware, the cutter is legacy, as you noted, and we cannot promise functionality on the newer software." We are looking in doing it. I'll let you know if we do. I'm concerned if will not work at all after.
