Need Help Anyone have settings for Substance 2755 in an HP 700 or similar

Hi there, I have a new 730W but have not been able to profile for my favorite media Substance 2755. I have tried starting from generic adhesive vinyl, monomeric vinyl and an HP Grip polymeric, with no luck. Also, it says how much optimizer would you like 15-50?, but the optimizer plots only have printed up to 35%... I don't have my 365 anymore so cannot refer to its settings (cautionary tale).

If someone can share their settings: temperatures, optimizer level, vacuum, etc. on their machine, I could see if it will work on the 730. I tried loading a 700 profile for Onyx, and the printer refused it. Still waiting to hear from the Substance gurus...

Thanks!:thankyou:

What is keeping you from being able to create a new print mode for the Substance 2755?

I have run Substance 2755 on the 700/ 800 Series and found it to be a solid and thermally stable calendared vinyl film. I would recommend starting with the Generic Self Adhesive Vinyl preset and clone it in the Substrate Library. (Generic presets on the 630/ 730/ 830 Series are far more robust and viable within media classes than was the case with the 300/ 500 Series.) That will port all of the print modes with their associated mechanical parameters to the new Substance 2755 preset. This media is not temperature-sensitive, so you should not need to make major cure temperature changes to the default (typically 194F). Run a color calibration to create a color reference.

That's what I did, but apparently missing something in the way, just made a big runny mess. Will start again from scratch, and will leave some of the overcoat on, I would have preferred not to, as just about everything gets laminated. By the way, P Wagner could you check what level of optimizer works for you at the best quality setting. Thanks.

Just do 10pass 130%, 90C curing, 20%opt, 0 OC

Color calibration and new ICC.

Or alternative if you do a lot of solid color:
10-15% opt, 2px edge and 2 drops opt.

Interesting that you use 10-15% opt. Is the 730 that much different than the 700 as I find 28% seems to be the sweet spot with most vinyls.
