i'm trying to recreate a new file from a low res picture a client needs. for the life of me a can't get the brushed aluminum fill right.
i have followed 2 online tutorals on how to create it, but, i get the seam/gap in my fill and i just can work out how to avoid it. my new file is the one on the left.
i followed these to links>>
http://layersmagazine.com/brushed-metal-effect-in-adobe-illustrator.html
http://vectips.com/tutorials/create-a-brushed-metal-texture/
problem with the first link is that once you create the effect via the grain effect pattern, the edges are very jagged so its basically useless......and i have no idea how to stop the edges being jagged on this one.
the other link i did and thats the one i am using, but i am getting this gap when i use it.....
basically i need to work out how to use the fill, without getting the gap or, get a new brushed aluminum fill which looks like the one in the picture, and once applied has no gap or anything to screw up the file.
