If so, did anyone swing by the Zund stand and notice if they were showing a new laser head attachment and more powerful router for the G3 / S3?

I've heard rumours of this but can't find any pictures, info, press releases, anything.

Did anyone visit the Zund stand and notice?

Yes they have shown a new cut&seal solution and the 3.6 kW router module. Both were prototypes and will be launched officially with beginning of 2017. That's the reason why you can't find any pictures so far. If you give me your email address i will send you a pdf with more information.

What was the intended use of the laser? Acrylic, fabric etc? Was the laser actually working?

They have shown how you can cut fabrics and don't need to stitch afterwards. Yes, the laser was actually working fine. So far as i know, the official release will be in the beginning of 2017.
