I am due for a new computer. I highly prefer Macs. But the new ones running Apple silicon worry me that the plotters/printers drivers may not work? Is anyone successfully running a new Mac and designing/cutting/RIPing? I currently run Windows through Parallels on my old Mac and everything works great.

Anyone Printing & Cutting From Mac M Processors (Non-intel chip)?

From what I've heard (mostly from ChatGPT) even if our software (CorelDraw, CoCut, FlexiSign) install, drivers become an issue. Apparently thats the hiccup, sending from the new Mac/Parallels to printers and plotters. I was wondering if anyone had any verified success stories.

I use a Mac (Tahoe 26.2)with the M3 chip and use Easy Cut Studio to cut vinyl on a Summa without a problem.

Sounds like you may need a different RIP. Have you looked into Caldera?

Why is it that you need to run parallels. You should be able to run everything connected to your Mac with the right software.

You can run everything from the Mac without parallels. You just have to get off Microsoft’s tit.

Roland VersaWorks7 Runs on Mac. Network connected Printers or Cutters Do not need Driver.
Versaworks 7 is the only version compatible with a mac . My printer is too old and doesn't run on anything after VW5.5.
