We are trying to use our Epson as a proofing machine as the trainers recommended at the seminar. We are having issues applying our custom .ICC profiles we created for our roland to “dumb it down”. He have the profiles in our “Windows/system 32/spool /drivers /color” folder and have enabled the profile in the windows control panel color management area. What step are we missing to get our profile to show up in our Photoshop and illustrator print dialogue boxes. We are not using a rip software with our Epson. The Model is an Epson Stylus pro 4880. if anyone has done this and can fill in what we are missing it would be great.

I think the part you are missing is to select "printer manages colors" instead of "photoshop manages colors" when you print.
photoshop won't load your printer color defaults, you'll do that through the printer driver.
