Arizona Owners. How Do You Load Heavy Rolls?

Bly

New Member
We have the roll media option and just got in a 2m wide roll of banner and it is heavy.
Thinking of getting a Foster On A Roll lifter or similar.
Can anyone recommend something that works with Arizonas?
Don't want to spend lots of money for something that doesn't work well with our particular printer.

99% of the time we only feed 54" rolls into ours, so it's a single person job.
Are you changing rolls often enough not to bother a 2nd person for a quick hand?

Just use a 2nd person if you have a 2nd person there.

But yeah if you need to get one of those lifts, get one. Will always come in handy.

There's only two of us at the moment.
One has a dodgy back and the other has better things to do.
If it makes us more productive it will be worth the money.

You answered your own question mate!
Exactly why i have a hydraulic tilt roler table. and other hydraulic tilt and lift tables. Glass is heavy.

Our transfer paper is 126" x 400'
I would love if you shared your solution to this.

The spindle is only like 24" off the floor, so I use one of the low boy carts on caster wheels, and just heave one side at a time.
It's like wrastling an alligator but negotiating only one side at a time is manageable.

Wheels can be great to get it into position.

I'm thinking a heavy duty dolly with castors will do the job.
Set up a cradle about the same height as the printer spool.
It's mainly to get it from the rack to the printer so seems nuts to spend thousands when a simple dolly can be got for a hundred.
Will post up what I finally run with.

My brother raced jet skis and the 4 wheeled dollies he had to move & work on them are real handy around the sign shop. Wouldn't take much to turn one into a dedicated roll mover.
I would offer to lend you my Manual loader but I don't think he has a passport.
