ArtPath toolpath ordering

Gerber ArtPath 2.6

I have some parts to make that have 3 holes in ply that is long and narrow.

I need the holes that to be drilled dues to their sizes I have a problem in respect of toolpath ordering.

I would like to drills the holes first and then rout the outside. Otherwise the part moves after the last route and then in the final drilling the holes are misplaced.

I thought I would be smart and do the drill in one operation, and the route in the second. The issue there is the drills are then misplaced by the router bit diameter.

Any ideas on making the drill toolpath complete first, and then to route the external part? Can I order the toolpaths?

I suppose I could go to a smaller bit but ........

One fudge that seems to work is to specify one tool for the drilling and the other for the routing.

Then the drilling is done as one operation, and then asks for the bit to be changed before completing the second rout operation.

when external shape and holes are combined, the holes will be cut first.

Many thanks for the reply.

That is what I would have thought would happen.

But when combined it mixes the toolpaths and so darts from a hole to a rout to presumably minimise tool travel.
