Tons of DTF printers use the same hardware inside. Check to see what printheads it has, that can make a pretty big difference.

The Digitech Fabrica DTF printer is an industrial-grade A3/12-inch model designed for startups, featuring Epson XP600 (or sometimes TX800) printheads for CMYK+WW color, max 1440dpi resolution, speeds around 3-5 sqm/hr or 9 mins/A3, and robust build with white ink circulation for printing on various fabrics via PET film transfers, using DTF inks

Epson G6070 - This is as easy as DTF is going to get. 5 minutes maintenance per week. 0 problems.

If you buy shaker directly from china you can be at around $17k all in

Hi Victor,

I was wondering how those Epsons really run? I've got two of the Mimaki dual head units and for a while we were debating switching to the Epsons as the Mimakis were giving us a lot of issues. Overal the Mimakis are doing great now but I'm still curious about the Epsons and it's hard to find much feedback anywhere. Even our Epson dealer wouldn't really go into much detail on them. We have Epson dye sub and solvent printers already. Are they really as low maintenance as they advertise? We just bought a ROQ impress so we might be buying another DTF printer. We'll likely go with a 9 color but I'm not sure yet.

Thanks! Tai

It'll run just as easy as your other epsons.

I have 100k sq ft printed on mine.

All maintenance is automated except shake white ink daily, takes 30 seconds.

I've gone 5 days without printing /shaking ink over the holidays and resumed printing without a problem.

Doesn't get any easier

85 sq ft/ hr cmykw
176 sq ft / hr white only

Next day on site warranty also good to have. I got 5 year warranty, 0 worry

The Mimaki Dtf printers were a mistake, just took a JV150/300 and put different ink and more white channels in it. They're crazy problematic and the old 1440 heads are awful with DTF inks.

I was looking at the mimaki well before epson g6070 came out and after I saw that the heads looked similar to DX7 heads I said no thanks based on my white and metallic experience 10 years ago on Roland VS printer

The 1440/DX7 is also a terrible value these days compared to the i3200 series. As the name implies, 1440 versus 3200 nozzles. Higher native DPI, more coverage and less than half the cost. 180 nozzles per inch on the 1440 versus 300DPI on the i3200, and since the nozzles are protected instead of one big nozzle plate, way less delamination issues.

and I think the G6070 has a better head than even the i3200, I remember seeing its 20-25% bigger, newer head although I haven't been able to find any specs.

Epson makes a ton of heads, but they are selective at what they offer to OEMs. I think they learned to sell them when people crept cracking their controllers.

When the XP600 was
$50 for a genuine new one, they were amazing. Now the supply chain has collapsed and the market is flooded with either cheap dodgy heads, or crazy expensive ones. Seeing prices creep into the $300+ range from reputable suppliers.

I sell it at $275, which is very high for China. Most buyers go for the $150 ones.
The market is flooded with refurbished heads, and I’m honestly tired of explaining it so I really dislike XP600.

No real way to tell if the refurbished heads are even electrically sound, so I have had instances where people have blown components with shorted heads they got from sketchy places like Amazon.
