Blue and red channels stopping mid-width

Morning all! We have a bewildering problem with our Mimaki JV33-160 and I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem or has any advice?

Midway though a print, around the center of the paper we suddenly loose one blue and one red channel. But only in the middle… they work fine for the rest of the print.

By changing the origin of the print head and running a test print we can clearly see the section where these channels just stop.

Encoder sensor and strip have been changed, no luck - we still get this ‘dead’ zone.

I’ve included a couple of photos, any ideas what could be wrong??

This is a LAN cable in the main plastic channel A break occurs at this point and contact is lost. The cable is worn out. Usually the problem looks a little different - you have a rather curious manifestation of this defect.
