BMW got a new logo

Looks like BMW remade their logo. Any thoughts on this one?

I agree with those who say it looks like something is missing with the black background eliminated. I kind of wish the "BMW" letters would curve along with the lines in the surround circles rather than basic upright letters merely being rotated into place. At least it doesn't look jumbled like so many bad text on path effects.

It looks like every other overdone minimalist corporate design out there now. You would think BMW would go a different route.
Cant stud these in place either, gonna be a bunch of ghetto bmws floating around in a few years once the carwash knocks pieces off.

It will take more time to steal the emblems now that they are multiple pieces.

The article says that although they put on a show car (Concept i4) they aren't going to be using the new logo on cars; that logo stays the same. The new logo will be used on communications because millennials or Gen-Z apparently can't abide things that aren't flat minimalist in their Twitter feeds.
