Calibrating HP 35500 flatbed

I am trying to run a job on treated canvas pre-mounted to foam core. A specialty product. initially the colors were really washed out. So I recalibrate on the canvas. All of the others colors pop now, but the black is almost completely gone, giving that " wrong profile" look. The "grey is all supposed to be a rich blackish color.

Any ideas? I tried recalibrating twice, same result. Here is the cal. strip. The black swatches look nice and rich? Can I just tweak the black level in my new calibration?????

use a matte canvas. The gloss surface of the canvas confuses the light as it bounces back to the spectro.

to me it looks like your GCR curves are whacked out.. try using a different profile, something saturated like backlit film...

HP 35500 satin canvas issue

I re calibrated a new media, but using Matte canvas, the black came back, and the cal looks pretty good. THX
